Skier Jumps into Crowd at Pond Skim

this is probably gonna get downvoted, but who builds a kicker that wide right next to a fence and crowd? It may have been the angle of the video though.

I think the better question is who in their right mind would try to jump over non willing participants... these aren’t your lapping buddies being dumb in the park... guy came in hot and got sent so far backseat it looks like (F for execution). Hope he got the living shit kicked out of him for trying such a stupid idea. Permabanned from copper and hopefully goes to jail where he can contemplate his total complacency and lack of any common sense.

it sucks knowing this will bring tighter regulations around alcohol in the future, like certain Vail resorts with their bag checks on closing day.

The video is a really bad angle, but it looks like he was not in control when he flew into the crowd

The jump has a tight transition. Meant to be used for the 15 ish foot gap. He had to come in hot to try and pump that drop, and hit the takeoff wayyy faster than it was built for. Would be easy to send you backseat.

was in finals with that guy at slope soakers and he literally came up to my homies and I and told us "imma clear the net and the crowd, I already told the women and children to move so we are good" and then he takes his piss hammered self down a totally different section of th course so we just kinda play it off like it was nothing. Flash forward like 15 minutes later, he hikes back up just kinda gives us this look and next thing we know he's flying skis first into these women and children. Was so wild to see in person...he was piss hammered but still doesn't justify

that part i got, but i wish there were a better angle... was he looking to land somewhere beyond the crowd? how would he know that part was clear even if he cleared the crowd?

this might be an unpopular opinion, but while i think the guy is fucking idiot and this was an egregious mistake, charging him with a felony seems like serious overkill. thoughts?

Yeah felony assault is pretty retarded. It wasnt like he went and started punching people.

I'm surprised there isnt a better angle as well. I dont think he did know if it was clear or not. I think his problem was that even a few feet of crowd.is a lot at the angle he had to take to get enough height.

Last year a couple guys, possibly him were doing something similar hitting a jump and gapping over the pond after it. Straight in line but pretty far. There also wasnt a setup jump on that so tou could come in with more speed in control.

Hoping he doesnt get charged with a felony, and hoping the event isn't forever fucked for the future.

felony is a bit overboard. Its pretty clear they are making an example of him.

I just hope this idiot doesn't make pit vipers look bad.

Man hate to break it to you but to me pit vipers signify drunk frat bro and that’s basically what this whole ordeal was.

I agree with some other people though I hope he doesn’t get a felony, while he definitely should not have done that I don’t think it was bad enough to justify making him a convicted felon. Convicted felons are allowed to be discriminated on when hiring, have lots of trouble leaving the country ever, and can be deported if they’re not a citizen. That is too harsh for getting too drunk and trying to jump over people IMO. Honestly though if he was evidently that drunk the event organizers shouldn’t have let him participate and I feel like some other people have responsibility in this scenario too. Especially because he was talking about doing it.
