Skier dies at my local mountain

My friend's father had a heart attack at my local mounatin, West Mountain, in upstate NY. There are 2 stories circulating on how he died: 1 is that he had a heart attack and the other is that he slid on some nasty ice, hit his head, and suffered fatal brain damage. I worked for the mountain for 3 years and there are some shady characters over there. I think the mountain is trying to cover up the ice incident. that's besides the point because at the end of the day, my friend doesn't have a dad anymore.

Thats real sad man. I'm sorry. It's annoying when the real truth doesn't get out, but sometimes it happens. I hope his son (and your friend) makes it ok.

I have a feeling it was a combination of the two. He had a heart attack and feel onto the ice then slid into the tree.

47 year olds don't usually have heart attacks. Ultra bummer though. I was at Mammoth last week and a snowboarder died on a powder day. He got stuck in a tree well and couldn't get out, so he suffocated. Never a good situation.

that's so sad, my friends dad died this summer...at least he was doing something he loved :/....a guy died at sugarloaf when i was there last week from a heart attack

my dad was 50 and had a fatal heart attack...its definitely possible. im not saying thats what happened though, cuz i have no idea.

47 year olds dont have heart attacks???? fuck that shit, i remember hearing a story on the news a couple years ago that a 16 or 17 year old died during a hockey game, he got off from his shift and had a HA on the bench and died, you can have one anytime it dont matter oh and dude, thats terrible he died, right after xmas and all, on the 23rd of december in a town an hour west of here, a lady left to go to the store while her kids were sleeping, and the place caught fire and both the kids died, 6 years old and 4 years old, i know the lady wasnt thinking that the place could burn down during the minutes she was gone to the store just down the street

i hate west mountain i used to go night skiing there eveery day after school pretty shitty first aid and the ski patrol blows ass not as bad as willard though...
