Skier dads

why are skier dads so terrible? 1. Dont bring your kids to a mountain and expect everyone to stay 300ft away from them at all times

2. The park is not for you and your family

3. fuck off

4. How can our generation of future skier dads change this pandemic

Sounds like someone got yelled at for skiing recklessly on a beginner slope surrounded by children. Generally if you actually learn how to ski and look like you're in control people don't care if you ski fast, but if you're flailing down a groomer between park laps with your hands over your dick trying to jump off everything people will get nervous around their small children

It's so stupid, when they come to the park "OH i have a SEASNO PASS! i can ski where ever i want!!" even though we get 2 runs compared to 70. then when we go to their runs "Omg SO dangerious i think i might report them"

Hey, hey, it's not OP's fault. He's a park rat and doesn't actually know how to ski. He's trying his best. Just because he's flailing his way down the greens without poles or any ability to hold an edge doesn't mean he deserves to be yelled at. He deserves to be laughed at and publicly shamed by the 4 year olds who can navigate the mountain better than he can.

...and then yelled at.

You're lucky you don't ski at my home hill. When out of control kids like you almost hit my kids I don't yell at you, I put my ski pole so far up your ass that you choke to death

Sometimes you just have to skip that feature and wait till next run. Trust me, it'll be there. And avoid the weekends and crowded hours.

what inspired me to write this: At sunday river, sent it on the stair set. I get on the rail, look at the end and see a family of 4 standing directly at the bottom of the rail. I came off early (not on purpose lol) and just avoided them. Skier dad proceeds to scream at me for 5 minutes for endangering his kids

So here is an obscure thought. They don't know better. They didn't realize that you can't see them and parks have a separate set of etiquette they they should learn. So stop, and calmly explain to them that it is a dangerous place for their kids to be and they need to be vigilant of their surroundings. 9/10 times that's met with a thank you and a lot safer of a day of skiing.

Hey, fuck you I'm a skier dad.

But for real, it's fucking annoying when they come through the park and roll over the landings. I don't even bother waiting for them to move anymore, I just try not to land on them.

I love seeing rad old guys shredding the groomers hard! Only reason why some may hate on park is because it didn't exist back in their day. My dads a rad skier dad who hits small jumps with me and my friends sometimes

There should be a rule that if you have rentals you shouldn't be allowed in the park

there should be a rule that if ur in the park, u have to have rentals. It will keep all of the assholes like u out of it

I really hate it when parents are trying to get their kids to ski, and they are just not feeling it. So damn hard for me not to say anything.

Probably just because I'm an instructor.

I would rather see a parent out teaching their kid to ski rather than putting them into the glorified daycare that is ski school.

OP I basically agree with #2. #1 is simple, you recognize you have more skill than the gaper family and you avoid them. Especially at my mountain and Im sure all of them parents will get mad if you fly by their 6 year old. But apart from that, where the hell are the parents common sense!? For example, about 3 weeks ago before my mountain closed my friends and I were having fun on a little jump trying new flips on, so I notice a milf and her son and she is saying how they need to stay away from the park kids and immediately the kid notices another park the trail over. So he tells his sexy mother and she says "oh well go there next run". There's probably 1000 more examples I could say but Id get off track

This kind of thing ussually depends heavily on the situation.

On a releted note. It feels like the overall attitude towards this has changed among NSers. A few years back this thread would probably have been filled with hate against parents bringing their kinds into the park ext.
