Skier Ability Level Vs. Legnth of ski

I need some information for a Statistics assignment. So whats your skier ability Level? (Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, and Type 3+) and the length if your ski. Also if you don't mind, what discipline of skiing do you do most often? (Park, Big Mountain, Moguls etc.) Also could you include your height as well?

Thanks

You should definitely add height as a variable because that dictates ski length far more than ability. If you're going to isolate ability the you need height, and you'll be able to look at the difference in ski length to height when compared with ability

I just added it to the question. Thanks for pointing that out, I typed the post out really quick in class rushed the question

Height, weight, skier ability, length of ski and typical terrain if you actually want to get proper statistics.

type 3 +

5'9

~178 is the average length of ski (176,178,180) groomers, park, all mnt, steeps, moguls, everything basically.

Type 5. That’s right, bow to me

7 feet tall

Zipper lines all day

whats the longest length Heartcarve comes in, 150? Yea that’s my size.

all jokes aside:

Type 3

6’

mostly park but I’ll ski anything

185 is my daily driver, and I just had to check my pow skis are 185 as well.

6'1", 185lbs. For the skier system I always put 2 as what the din calculates to usually works for me (so far...). Also putting 3 only changes the setting by 1.5. I'd consider myself advanced for east coast and intermediate/advanced on west coast shit.

188cm, 185cm, 179cm and 205cm if you count the old skis I just refurbished. In general I have a very tiny penis and scoff at anything sub 180.

A limitation of this is that not all skis are true to size. Also depending where you mount, a short ski could easily feel much longer.

Just got my Surface Outsiders which are 189cm, I'm 6' tall. I used to ski 171cm Blends. Technically I'd say I'm a Type 3 skier, I am half decent at trees and moguls and can go pretty much anywhere on a big mountain. I suck at park tho rn, I can only do flat boxes/rails/tubes and can't do a 360 or 270 out and stuff.

I thought ski length was related to height not skill.

It's definitely related to skill, maybe less so for park, but certainly for powder and big mountain. Ten years ago my freeride skis were 159cm long, 5 years ago they were 169, currently I'm riding 177's. The more you are charging down the mountain the more you tend to want the stability of a longer ski. My park skis haven't gotten much longer though, they were 155 when I started out and now I ride 164-168, longer is better if you are hauling in fast to larger jumps, but can make things more cumbersome on rails.

For your stats class I'm 5'2 157cm tall and a type 3+ skier based on this chart https://www.skis.com/Determining-Your-Skier-Type/article-10-17-2012,default,pg.html which basically just means you set your din higher than what is recommended for type 3 for your weight/ height/ BSL, which I do. Ski length is 164 for park, 170 all mountain, 177 powder. Average ski length is 170.

I feel like you're only gonna get Type 3 or 3+ on here.

But I'm 6'0, 165lb and ride a 181 park ski (would probably still size up next time) and 186 all mountain/pow.

Type 3 or 3+ I think, mostly park and all mountain. I am 5"7 and ski at 166 park ski and a 176 powder ski

Who the fuck browses Newschoolers and classifies themselves as level 2 or 1 lets be real.

5'9

class 3/3+

I ski anything, no preference. all mountain/urban/park

Using 177

I don't have a ski that isn't center mounted :(

Update after 1 day in the park: they feel pretty good, although a tad heavy. I couldn't imagine sizing down, I got the right size, but let's see how they hold up off-piste with that length.
