i was watching the new oakley clip http://oakley.com/about/video_vault/, and it was good except the skichuting, that shit is soo gay, i dont wanna watch that stupid ass shit, its not even dangerous at all and its super gay...good oakley clip though

umm base jumping is dangerous as shit, but I definantly agree that Skichuting is freakin gay I i hate it when they put that crap in ski videos

I'm going to have to say, I like it a lot, seeing a guy huck multiple backflips of a several thousand foot cliff is pretty dope. I loved McConkey's segment in yearbook.

It is just not something everyone can do becuase it is so incredibly expensive. Its not much fun to watch, but im sure it is a huge rush. Learn another word other than gay. You are a loser.
 
shit is stupid but if you do it like 2 times a season that's ok, it takes away from the whole aspect of skiing
 
skichuting is pretty sweet in general but when 3/4ths of a movie is just base jumps and crap(yearbook??) it gets really old and I would much rather see footage of abma throwing a switch 1080 than the same laid out front flip to parachute 14 times.
 
How does one assign sexual orientation to a sprt anyway? Especially an extreme sport. So what if McConkey got tired of the millions of lines he's already skied including first decentes in Bella Coola to where he decided one day that he wanted to hit line by parachuting in and out of them. If any of us legitamate big mountain skiers could ski exclusive lines like that we'd fo whatever it'd take to get to them including pulling a string and throwing a pair of poles away.

don't hate it tell youve tried it, i personally think it gets boring to watch after awhile but if i had the opurtanity i would deffintly go for it and it would be so sick. I started skydiving this summer and have 50-jumps in after last weekend!

I will be buying a base setup once I get to the 200+ mark...maybe two years from now....

The rush and feeling of skydiving on your own is awsome and it is so accesible to do. It is not rocket science...

What Shane and JT are doing is freaking ridiculous and unless you are a complete moron...you would be able to imagine how crazy standing above a 2000-foot cliff would be...imagine dropping into a steep run, making several fast turns, maybe a small air and then pointing it to an endless void....everything has to be perfect...if not your dead...your heart pounds and then everything goes silent as the earth falls away beneath you.... dammm son it would be insane, EVERYTHING that you like about jumping multiplies by a million...

word on the street is, Jt holmes startes Baseing before he even went skydiving, I think thats kinda funny. Personally I would like a lot of jumps just to practice chute control before I buy a base rig

first of all base jumping is hella dangerous I don't know where you heard different... but yeah it would be funa shit and scary as shit to do but they definitally have overdone it in the movies...
 
i love how people rib on things they will never do just because it doesnt look swet in videos. If you went skydiving or skidiving it would be so sweet
 
kinda, but can anyone WRAP THE MINDS around what type of rush it must be, BASE jumping, or ski baseing, or even just skydiving. Shit it must be fun. I think a few people hear have done it. Like Tandum.

How is skarachuting more badass than actually dropping a cliff. Basicly its taking out the dangerous part: the landing. Im not saying its not scary and that anyone could drop a 100 foot cliff, but its definitely not more badass than dropping a forty foot cliff.
 
dude, it switzerland those guys skiied off the Eiger, that thing is like 2,000 feet or more from the valley floor. If they didn't have skis on, they probibly could have fallen for more than 15 seconds.
 
How the fuck could we even get this far and stupid into this conversation, how the hell could this not be dangerous? Have any of you fucks even gone skidiving, let alone a base jump. I have only gone skidiving once and even that shit is dangerous as hell. Are we thqt dumb to say it is stupid, fine if you don't like it in ski movies that is fine, but jesus people, we all have to think about this rationally, it is dangerous, it has to be shit tons of fun, thats lots of hangtime, any most of you fuck wads would chicken out and not even be able to do it. I think a 40 ft cliff is not as burly as a skarachute jump, hands down. and for the redcord my opinion is my own and i am right. ha
 
I like how mcckonkey and roner and all those guys always say they are doing it because it opens up the possibility of skiing lines that were never possible before. So far in the 3 years they have been doing all they are doing is skiing hanging snowfields with terrain similar to anywhere else in the mountain except there is a 1000 foot cliff in the end. The only line i have seen skied where you couldnt without a chute is the one that ends Tangerine Dream...other t han that everything mcconkey and everyone else has been doing is just base jumping proceeded by a few small turns.
