I know this heading is gonna piss people off, but if there is one thing I HATE, its hypocrites. I posted a message agreeing with Jeremy Nobis' article in Freeze, that jibbing wasnt real skiing (compared to big mountian). and all bunch of jibbers told me that it was, just a different style from big mountian, to be open minded, bla bla bla. now some guy posts about skiboards, and all the jibbers tell him that he sucks, its not a real sport, etc etc. LOSERS!!! If you want big mountin skiiers to respect you ofr sliding on rails, why cant you respect soem guy with ski boards??? I ski on 190's. A pair of 140 twins are closer in size to a pair of 100cm ski boards than to my skiis..so what the fuck is your problem?? Now I cant stand ski boards, i dont think they are fun, etc. I also own a pair of twins, i like to ski the pipe, becuz i'm from the East, i cant ski the real stuff too often. but i hang with jibbers all the time, i can apreciate a sweet rail slide or whatever, i jsut dont htink its real skiing. So stop bashing the fucking skiboarders, all you jibbers, if you want big mountian skiiers to stop bashing you! its all sliding on snow, its all fun, peace out, pray for snow.

 
Werd dude. I hear people bitching because snowboarders give them shit, or because they hate skiboarders, hate snowboarders whatever.

I say fuck it, why do we have to be prejudice to people because of what they ride. So many people think Line Skis is a badass company, well they got their start in skiboarding! People say Mike Nick sucks because he was a skiboarder, FUCK THAT, if you can throw a switch bio 9 with more style than him, then you can open your mouth.

Skiing should not have this prejudice. It doesnt matter what you ride, Snowboard, Fat Skis, Twin Tips, Skiboards, all with the same goal, to slide down the snowy hills and have fun doing it.

END THE PREJUDICE RIGHT NOW. SKIERS, SNOWBOARDERS, SKIBOARDERS, EXPERTS AND BEGINNERS, we all share the same basic idea, to have fun.

If you are on skis, you are skiing. if you are on a skiboard, you are skiboarding. If you are jibbin on skis, then you are still skiing, and same with skiboarding. I don't know why prople put so much thought into it. It's pretty simple.

 
props to you guys with open minds!! I was just thinking, its crazy, 5 years ago me and my buds were getting chased out of the pipe by the snowboarders, there was so much skiier-snowboarder rivalry...now that we, as skiiers, have shown the boarders we can ski faster, huck biggger, and do everythign with as much style as them..or often more, its turned into a racer-jibber-big mountian-skiboarder rivalry! whats with that! jsut enjoy the sport, and if you dont apreciate someone elses stlye, who cares! I get comments when i show up in the park with my 190 fats. So whatever, lets all jsut chill and have fun, and to all the litte jib punks with attitude: dont knock soemthign until youve tried it! peace

 
Then again, my 180 twins are closer to your 190s. and I live on the east coast, so that means that I dont get the big mountain to ski on... does that mean I'm not a real skier because I dont ski big mountain, or does it mean that I am a real skier because I ski on 180s...

I am happy there are alot of open minded people towards skiboarding that i thought there were. Its a sport and much like every other sport there will be leaders and then there will be followers. If your a leader you will continue doing your sport out of the love. if your a follower you would do whats cool! and be a slave to the media and trash everything that everyone else trashes just to fit in.. Moral of the story be cool stay in school ;-)

yeah he made a sick point, i am open minded towards ski boards and support them when i see them throw down, it doesnt matter that they ride shorter boards

This is kinda cool...I'm getting into free-skiing this season cause last spring break, i tried a pair of skiboards and found it fun. But since i'm a speed freak....well, i need the speed man...

 
Notice how everyone is open minded in this forum.I find that people on this site are open minded when other people in the forum before them were open minded. Nobody wants to be the only one with a different point of view. even though I am going to sound like a hypocrit(sp),I have nothing against skiboarders. Its just not my choice. I prefer the backcountry booters and pow. I can't do that on skiboards. therefore I don't like them. The people riding them can be cool. doesn't mean they are. A Jerk is a jerk on any plank, short, long, single, or double.

yeah i havent seen a pair of 140s in a long ass time, i got 183s, and i ski all over and i still hate skiboards, does that make me a hypocrite?

who is anybody to say what real skiing is? Are you the one that makes the decision of when real skiing starts and ends, i don't think so, so just shut up and go ski or do whatever it is that you do.

riding around on big mountain skis is like driving a sick suburban on and off road

pimpin in a sick ferrari or sports car on a badass street course is like jibbing on twins

pushing your broken down yugo to the closest gas station is like fumbling down the mountain on skiboards

sure they are all vehicles in which you drive around to get you somewhere, but don't you think the guys with the suburban and ferrari are gonna laugh their asses off at the faggot pushing his yugo?

i rode skiboards, and then i got skis, both were fun

i have no prejudice (sp?) against anyone really, sure if i lived out west i bet id like pow and backcountry shit too, but i live on the east coast, so i really like jibbing

whatever its all fun so just do what u like to do

 
i think skiboards suck because it is like skiing but half-assed. All types of skiing are awesome. The only thing i dont like about skiing are these jibbers who can slide rails, but cant ski. If you have seen the very end of Scandalous you know what I mean. I like snowboarders cuz that shit is a lot harder than it looks. I hate most people who ski cuz they think they are bad ass gangstas like tanner hall when they really arent, they are just copying someone elses style. That is fuckin gay! Make your own style.
