I'd like to say Hello, and introduce SkiA to Newschoolers. Our product, the Sweetspot Trainer, launched in the UK a year ago and in the USA in late 2012.
It's a new type of dry-land balance and skill training device. It's designed to work for skiers of all abilities up to, and including, expert skiers. We originally saw it as a tool particularly for ski racers, but it's become obvious that it's relevant for freestylers. We've also found it's a tool for rehabilitation and recovery.
I know that the community does not want spam. Equally, I hope you'll be interested in something that is genuinely new, and hasn't been covered here before. I have checked with site admin before posting to be sure.
There is more information about the trainer on our site www.skia.com/us
The site wasn't written from an expert freestyle perspective - please forgive this, it's work in progress, and we are learning and refining as we go along too.
Almost all of you will be highly sceptical. It would be surprising if you weren't. In our experience, almost everyone approaches the trainer that way. Over the years there have been dozens of skiing gimmicks that haven't delivered. However anyone who tries the trainers will quickly discover that it's a real challenge, and the skills needed to use it successfully transfer directly to high performance skiing.
Brief FAQs
We dispatch USA orders directly from the United States.
It's a complete pack, with 4 pairs of blocks, and a manual included.
They fit all sizes of adult boots. Touring boots (with a wide sole) can be used, but are not such a neat fit.
The trainers are designed to be as light, small and tough as possible. The plastic they are made from is very strong and durable.
They can be used on almost any firm surface, such as tiles, wood, carpet etc. They can also be used on firm snow, though the smallest blocks work best on a harder surface.
I'll happily take questions by private message.
Many thanks, best wishes
