Ski with the shortest lifespan

What park ski didn’t last long for you? Also how did you destroy them? And did you re-buy or find a different brand?

Year? Cause of death? and Next victim?

2022 pretty sure they were just shitty durability I think a ton of other people had the same problem. My friend had some and they got pretty wrecked too. Loved the skis just delammed off like a week of chill skiing.

Been sorta lucky with skis. But a friend rode for surface couple years ago, and the tip delammed first week and then the edge pulled out the next one.

k2 wreckoners

also old faction candides. I had a limited edition 5.0 with a number stamp and candide signature and even for them they didn't manage to improve quality control, skis delammed within a week.

My on3p magnus 102 from 2018 delaminated and lost its edge underfoot after a week sent in pics they hooked me up with a new set and still kicking today

Head Caddy (now the oblivion 84), The edges just started separating from the ski in the first few days, before they ever touched a rail. Tried to get the problem rectified through warranty and was told "there was rail damage" even though the edges were sharp and the mill marks were still visible on the edges. Just skiied them until they completely fell apart after about 30 days.

I got some Faction prodigy 1.0s which are a much better ski and are still going with some small pieces of edge missing.

Not a park ski but still got used in park, sick days do not hold up to rails. I could see the core from the topsheet after clipping the end once

nordica unleashed 98, got sent a few pairs over the past year and had a pair became more clapped than any other ski i've ridden. only had 25 days on my first pair before a full base separation from tip to tail

Now this surprises me… were u ripping park on them?

yup, given the ski wasn't designed for a park skier it still fell a part much faster than i expected. I saved a pair for a comp last season and before the comp started i had less than 5 days on the ski. by the end of my first practice run a massive section of the nose delamed

the original trouble makers. cracked edges after a single day. got good deals on them, so skied them for a few years but always had to buy a new pair at the beginning of each season. this was during high school, when i only skied 30 days all season anyway

My 2014 edollos delammed within one week of very casual all-mountain/park riding. Switched to Fat-ypus and haven't had any issues since (L-toro was fairly similar shape).

Can’t speak for the chetlers, but the atomics I’ve seen are always delaminating some how. I skied the infamous for a season and only one tip wasn’t delaminating .

Reckoner 102

the sidewalls blow after 2 days of park riding and after 4 days every sidewall was blown. On every ski where a gap of 5mm between sidewalls and edges.

changed to Vishnus and never got any problem’s got also some On3p s and they are bombproof ,dont see anything on them after 40 days of park skiing.

My Bentchetler 120s keep breaking within one season and I am not skiing park on them. Core breaks away where binding mounts.

Liberty Transfer 2015: every tip and was tail delaminated by the end of day 3

I remember the shop I used to work in sold those and the antigen that year, didnt bother carrying liberty’s again after one season. I think almost every pair came back within a month or two destroyed; by people that weren’t even skiing park on the east coast.

Just goes to show how different experiences can be. I’ve had about 15 pairs of liberties with zero issues. Skied one pair of antigens on rails exclusively for about 3 seasons without a single bit of edge ripping out. Same for a pair of LTEs after demoting them from several seasons as a jump/pipe only ski.

That checks out bc everyone I knew in liberties have rivited tips & tails. Those things were built like shit.

That’s so wild you’ve had nothing but really good experience with liberty, stoked to hear that. I bought the one pair and through warrantee, I got 4 more pairs for free before switching from them as they kept breaking within a couple of days of use.

The arv 84 is a ski for children and isn't built with adult skiers in mind. The 86 is the adult version.

There's a kids and an adult version of the 84..

Had to warranty 4 or 5 pairs for customers last season. Very few issues with the 90s and up though

Because only the 85 uses a foam core. Rest are all wood

Damn I had a pair of caddys (2016) that I got in a spring sale. The next season I had the same issue and they sent me a pair of 2018's. The skis had like 30ish rail days but the edge was separating at the tail. The newer pair they sent me lasted me a solid season and a half before I snapped a ski jibbing a rock.
