How do you guys cary your phone for music when you ski, or do you at all? Just clapped the shit out of my screen eating shit at Trollhuagen so now I put it in my chest pocket, idk how I feel about it doe.

Chest pocket is the safest. Way back in the day I had my old flip phone in my pant pocket and fell sideways on a C box and crushed it.

I'm better at not getting hurt if I bail to my right side, so my phone goes in my front left pant pocket. Never broken it skiing, and it has never dies on me.

I like this idea, might try the left pocket

Slightly unrelated but one time I was skiing at hood and I had my phone in a treefort lifestyles pouch. Some reason I put it in the pocket that didn't have velcro and it fell out while I was doing backflips in public park. I didn't realize until about an hour of retracing my steps and freaking out. One of my friends found it slightly buried under some slush between two jumps. Yikes.

Travelers trunks are still dope tho, just use the velcro lol

I used to have an s9 and it literally never died in the cold, got an iphone 7, dies immediately below like 30. I wish I could leave my phone in the car, but i figure if I ever get stuck in a treewell or some shit it'd be nice to have some sort of fighting chance.

Chest pocket for sure. Never in pants pockets. Landing on a phone hurts really bad since it concentrates all that energy to a smaller space (unless the phone is protecting from a pointy rock, in which case it would be dispersing the energy). I've also had my phone fall out of pants pockets before too so another reason.

Anyway, having it in my breast pocket also allows me to run a headphone jack to my helmet audio or headphones. It's one of the warmer places too, but on super cold days, it will still die without protection. I made a soft cold proof phone case that I keep my phone in, then put inside my breast pocket.

Chest pocket with an old wool sock cut to be a little bit bigger than my phone. Keeps it warm and the wool wicks the moisture off of it from condensation. Also adds some slight protection.

Yeah my iPhone 7 was garbage in the cold, died even during walks in the woods when it was like in the 30s...

Sounds crazy...but I put

it in my hoodie kangaroo pouch under my ski pants bibs. Works mint....unless you taco something

If that cheesy show "I shouldn't be alive" has taught me anything, it's that most bad situations can be prevented by bringing your phone. haha

Now I realize why I left pocket my cell phone. Do you spin right more naturally? Or ride goofy footed?

I have bluetooth headphones now so I put my phone in my jacket chest pocket or shirt chest pocket of this marmot midlayer i wear often. Always zipped up

I carry my phone on the way up while touring. I use it for local topo, gps if I have a tough time and for music.

On the way down, I put it in my backpack for extra cushings

I did the exact same thing at Trollhaugen last year. Was thinking about getting something like an iPod Nano or something inexpensive that I won't have to care about falling on.

Usually in my backpack if i'm carrying one, or inside pocket. For some reason, I put it in my pants pocket when I took a spill last Fri, destroyed the phone but took most of the impact for my leg. Grateful it was there

Yes bro, I used to have a iPod shuffle but lost it. Thing was the best, super small and could clip it to anything

chest pocky, also where suspenders so i just put it in my bib pocket on the inside. if it riddes in my leg pocket it gets all gross and sweat infested because i am a heater

or jus leave the phone in the car and get a ipod shuffle pretty cheap. keeps it lightweight then having a big phone in your pocket. but then again, if you didnt get the pic or clip it didnt happe

Am a the only one here who doesn’t text and ski?

ipod shuffle with money clipped to it and headphones is all you need

Why though? Skiing setups have an average of about 10 pockets lol. You’re just unavailable at any time you’re skiing? You wouldn’t want a phone on you if you get hurt or lost?

There is no reason for having it / priority is skiing not texting

also, I break everything I encounter ....

bent an iPhone 8 90 degrees over a rail I was disastering ...

I honestly just put it in my pants pocket, and it was kind of like motivation not to fall. I got a nice jacket tho so I will probably have it in a chest pocket.

I use a diy chest case of duct tape. Put your phone in a thin plastic bag, wrap the tape arround it, cut the tape at the top side, roll the tape collar. Thats it. Cheap. Long lasting.

I know this was bumped by likely spam bots but seeing this post I have to ask of you saw the south park parody. "I should have never gone ziplining" or something like that was pretty funny remembering watching I shouldn't be alive.

Also unrelated ish but survivorman was dope

chest pocket with hole for earbud wire in the virtika bibs is noice since i prefer to buy 6 dollar ear buds from the store and use them until they either break or get lost since I'd lose other earbuds real quick.

I put it in my pocket but I got one of these as a gift and I attach it to my waistline to make me feel safer about dropping my phone off the lift

have it in a pouch inside my bib pocket. if i'm not using my bib i usually risk it and put it in my right pocket. have used a chest bag too under my hoodie7 jacket
