Does anyone ski with girls? What tricks can they do...I ski with all guys and i want to see how i compare.

Everytime I ski with girls, I teach them how to do at least one trick. The best girl I've ever skied with could do 3's when I was done with her. Plus, she was hot.

Well, i think that the reason that there aren't that many girl jibbers is because there aren't really that many guy jibbers either. Im not at all trying to sound sexist, but when you look at most sports, there are a lot more men than women. Because newschool skiing is a small sport, there are going to be few people (relitive to other sports) doing it, and even fewer girls! It's probably the same percentage wise as any other sport.

well i look at the mountain i ski at and i am one or the only girl jibbers, and there are countless number of guys. i think a ton of girls have to much fear.

yea,good point also. i agree. most girls are prety scared to do or try anything. I don't mean this in a bad way, but most girls would rather sit thier ass on the phone than throw themselves over a jump. Most of em are just too girly to do stuff like that. But..on the other hand..there are lotsa snowboarding girls...so..maybe its not the fear that keeps em away. i dont know..im contradicting myself..good night..

I dont normally ski with girls but will be this season. Ive got a friend who's been skiing for longer than me and is a competitive figure skater so im going to teach her to do all teh crazy spinning stuff in the air on skis. Should be pretty good.

 
I wish there was an answer to why girl skiers have fear....i know i have fear, but i know how to get over it. so i try shit.

its not fear its intimidation. look at it this way.. your a girl new to the sport, your only into it because the guys u ski with did and were pushing you to try the sport. so you do. u go out and u get the equipment. and bam it hits you.. your now in a sport where to be considered 'good' your throwing your ass off booters bigger than 50 feet at high speeds and going inverted, or twisting your body in circles so many times that would make u dizzy on the ground even.. thats alot to have in your face.. everyone knows you have to start off small and learn the basics but its not so easy when your buddies are all hucking carcass and your learning 3's. as well u need to learn how to handle your air.. and no one can help you with that,. that ones up to you,, and its not easy at first, as well it usually results in alot of crashing..

but dont fret about not enough girls in the sport. skiing is making a comback fast, and before you loose it. take advantage of the 101 to 1 ratio of guys to girl skiers... your going to need that extra attention, it always feels good having a crowd of boys watching and pushing you to do better..

last time I skied with a girl was at marmot. she was from saskatchewan, so we ended up skiing the green runs at the bottom. other than the fact she was hot, it was a waste of an afternoon.

Sarah burke could pbly kick almost every guys ass. And what mauii said was true, especially in smaller places, there aren't many freeskiers to begin with, but chiks and freestyle mix well. I also think that chiks have more hangtime, because they are generally lighter, so they can put more style in there tricks, and thats what matters. Technicals look like shit without style.

i try and ride with girls but they always want to warm up in the lodge and practice inverted spreads

 
i ski with like 6 chicks, they can all do japans mutes, 1 of them can do 360s of the smaller jumps in the park. but almost no chick beats skiing with the good old boyz (if that sounds gay its not supposed to)

i ride with chicks all the time... there's a bunch of skier/snowboarder chicks around blue... i just stalk them all... you know how it is.

yeah, i dont know any girls who ski...at least, any who can ski half decently...and peta...weight has nothing to do with hangtime, i'm sorry...gravity doesnt give girls a break becuase they're lighter....in fact they'd have a harder time going big because of being lighter and not being able to get as much speed etc.

 
a few girls i ski with in england can do 3's, and some 5's, and a couple can backflip, one can do 7's.... ive only seen that at comps though, and they could be from somwhere else in europe?

 
as bad as it is to say, not really, cause i'm better than most girls i ski w/, its normally an ability level thing, i do have one friend that is a chick that rips, and she is fun to ski w/

I know a few girls that ski but the thing with most girls is that they don't get realy obsest with it like we all do, i think that most chicks don't consider doing flips on bigg ass jumps risking there lifes fun...

it kinda depends i think. If the girl is into the whole park thing and does what we do then it is fine with me but if all they want to do is ride greens and blues then fuck that.

i ski with all guys but i don't think i'd want to ski with a bunch of other girls. some girls are just so dumb and do nothing but worry and whine a lot. boys are just so much more fun to hang out with. they don't really care about who's dating who and who hates who. on the hill it's all about skiing and having fun. although sometimes it's just better to not know what guys talk about when they all get together.

sarah is an awesome skier and you just have a huge ego. i know i am confident when i ski with guys cause i am a challenge to them. i only wish i was as good as Sarah. Big_Willy you just hate it when girls could be better at a sport.

Hey CTtripper where you ski at in CT cause i ski in CT and i jib as much as i can, i only know a few other freeskiers in CT so we should have like a CT freeskiin convention and all go to Sundown or Powder Ridge or something.

Yeah, so I ski by myself most of the time...when I do ski with other people they're guys...I'm one of the only girl skiiers who does the park here. I know there's at least 1 girl who's really good but I don't see her very often. I'm not very good yet...can do 180's and 3's and stuff like that but I'm working on it and I'm definitely getting better. I wanna be able to a backflip by the end of this winter. yes, girls do have a good measure of fear but I'm not dominated by it...and I'm not trying to be good to impress the guys...I don't just want to be good for a girl. I want to be good. period.

so, find a girl to ski with...we're open to pointers from guys! Just wanna get better.

so, if you live near me give me a message...I'm looking for some people to ski with! :^)

It's never a waste of time to try to get girls into the sport. The real trick is finding a girl who really wants it, if they have the desire then the tricks follow. I've noticed, and i'm sorry for being so general, that most girls don't really have the desire to go bigger, to get better. The freeride team i'm on just got their first female to sign up for it and I'm stoked because just talking to her I can tell that shes gunna progress and just kick ass.

 
The problem is that as a guy you tend to want a girl that displays girlish behaviour. That's why girls that play football are not exactly what most people want. Same goes for jibbing. It's not sexy when girls do it, so just leave it

almoehi, girls can jib and be perfectly feminine at the same time...why are all the guys on this site drooling over Sarah Burke and Kristi Leskinen if jibbing makes them too boyish and un-sexy? Do you think that all that girls are supposed to do is sit back, watch they guys and tell you how good you are? I don't think so. You're just scared of getting out-done by a girl.
