Ski-tours?

I just moved to Langley in September, and don't know anybody who is down to go shred some non-park gnar gnar or who has the equipment to do so. I sadly can't really ski park anymore cause when ever I fall on rail tricks or pop in lip my shoulder dislocates. This however doesn't happen as much when I'm hitting back country stuff. SO to anyone that needs a partner in crime when pillaging the back country I'm the guy for the job. And just to convince you further I work for ABS avalanche rescue devices so when ever I go out touring I will also have an ABS bag for YOU if you want it (don't be stupid and wear an Airbag backpack it'll save your life). So if you ever go hunting pillows, spend all day digging a booter and need help or just wanna go straight line some couloirs with a fellow ripper then reply to this or PM me cause I'm free to shred any weekend.

I do a little bit of ski touring. Last year I did a trip to the Brew Hut and some skiing around the Whistler slackcountry. This year I have gone on two overnight treks: one to Black Tusk and another to the Elfin Lakes Hut. However, I am not too experienced, having only spent a little time in the backcountry, but I did take AST1. When I go out I normally go with an experienced group of people and next time we go on a trip (sometime in January because I am returning home for Christmas) Ill let you know.

You should consider joining the UBC Varsity Outdoors Club. It has lots of non student members, and if you are not a student it costs around $50 to join. During the winter the club leads tons of free trips, and although many of the trips are beginner oriented, I am sure some people in it are willing to shred some gnar. The club is filled with lots of very experienced ski tourers, and they have trips that will show you how to ski mountaineer, navigate through glaciers, etc.

Im a proficient big mountain skier, and i really want to start getting into more actual backcountry stuff. i did a short bookpack to corona bowl last season, but thats basically the extent of my experiance.

Im taking an ast 1 and picked up a probe beacon and shovel, so if you want a partner on an easier hike or tour, and dont mind a backcountry novice, give me a shout!

I'm looking for partners for backcountry stuff on the weekends. I have taken AST1 and have a few years of experience, but still consider myself a novice in backcountry skills, but am a decent skier so the way down is not a problem. Looking to explore more the day-trip accessible lines from Blackcomb this season, in safer/sunny conditions mostly. Definitely want to get on some steeper stuff in the spring, hopefully something off Fissle, have not been out there.

Yeah man I have about the same experience as you do. When I'm back from the holidays we should go shred some slackcountry at whis. weather and conditions permitting. Any of you ever go to booters-ville or just go build jumps ever cause when the conditions ain't the best this can be a lot of fun and a good way to learn new tricks...mmmmmmmmmm powder
