Ski the East Freeride Tour

I see Magic mountain is holding their annual Black Magic Extreme challenge this weekend. I think I'm going to give it a go. I was trying to feel some people out as far how the event goes and their thoughts about it. I know last year it took place during a pretty good dump, this year it doesn't look like we will be as lucky. Is anybody here looking to compete?

you bet. ill be there, gypsyslayer will be there, plus a handful of others from UVM. should be fun despite the conditions

this may sound lame, but i've only got 1 pair of skis and they happen to be anthems, i rip them everywhere around the mountain, should be able to shred black magic right?

wish i could go. i might be able to go to the one in jay in march, it sounds super fun. anyone else attend the first stop? (mrg)

to the kid asking about anthems, they are probably not ideal for the conditions but you should be fine. its looking like we could get 6 inches of snow on friday which would help alot and make the conditions softer which would be better for soft skis like the anthems

yesterday was alot of fun, mad respect to the skiers who charged that trail. cant wait for the next two stops

oh I dint remember you haha, but I was wearing green/yellow jacket and yellow pants, and I sucked ass in my run hahaha

Yeah it was, and I was in heat 7 so it was all skied out. and I can't make it to the sugarbush one which I'm pissed about, and I'm gonna try and make it to the jay one

Who is currently in the lead for this. And I have a friend from UVM who says he's doing it, anyone know the UVM kids who are competing?

a bunch of UVM kids are doing it, colby vavolotis from UVM was in the lead heading into the sugarbush stop last weekend but i think he has dropped down a couple spots. this weekend should be great. jay has so much snow they have moved the qualifier to a harder trail (green baret) if anyone plans to do it try to register today to ensure a spot. anyone else gonna be there tomorrow?

jay was super fun overall, the courses were sick, but the conditions were pretty shitty. ride the east- if you were competing on Saturday, i'm pretty sure i saw you. (snowboarding right?)

i got to meet some meatheads, geoff and chris. not sure how i did but it was fun either way.
