Ski tattoo ideas?

im getting a tattoo this summer in memory of my dad who passed away earlier this year. he was the one who got me into skiing and we bonded so much over it. so i was thinking getting one on my lower leg. i came up with a little design that is a pair of skies cross in the shape of an X with rosary beads hanging down from one of the skis with "RIP Dad" undeneath. anybody else have any suggestions? all are appreciated
 
i'd put something that would remind me of him the most..if skiing directly connects to your father i'd definately do that..
 
This is something I always thought would look cool. Like a mountain range or the face of a slope or something with two tracks going down it (to represent you and your old man) and then put like rip or his initials in the snow or something. IDK, that might sound corny but I just think it would look cool..

Think, kind of like this but panned out so you can see like the hill and stuff you know...?

Right now Ive got double diamonds and Ive got my buddy drawing up a new design that involved skis and poles configured together to make a snow flake thats gonna be on the back of my calf.
 
get a half sleeve of a mountain range that fades into the different season and atop the mountain throw up what you want for your dad and on the different season get deatiled something you remeber of him or he did with you during that time of year, just saying that would be the ultimate tribute with out look so chesey, yes i know its artsy, artsy as fuck
 
i got a 3/4 sleeve rocking. its a snowstorm with wind tunnels,snowflakes, clouds, lightning blowing. then it moves into an avalanche going through trees and broken branches at the bottom. a howitzer canon on the inside of my arm. i like it.
 
ive always wanted to get double diamonds. if i can find a way to incorpriate that into my idea it would be sweet but i have no clue how too
 
Get a tattoo that loosk kind of like the intro to In Deep with all the character but customize it to your liking.
 
Did he every say anything that he said all the time (or even just once) that was inspiring or funny that you remember till this day?

Did he have a favorite run?

Was there anything else that you guys did together a lot?

just word tattoos are gay, tattooing is a form of art, art being pictures, you should take the quote and illistrate it, and boom theres your new tat
 
I was thinking a ski tattoo with a quote under or above it. Not a huge font size though. I think it would be better than "RIP Dad". No offense to the thread creator.
 
none taken. and yea i was gonna do a design that i came up with a quote underneath probaly. maybe "RIP" on one ski and "Dad" on another, and then have a seperate quote underneath
 
Yeah, they aren't interesting or profound to people that have no idea what the fucking tattoo is about. The best tattoos I have seen are the ones that no one knows what it is for outside of the person that has it.
 
Any of you guys with ski tattoos got pictures? Ive been thinking about a heart beat monitor style graphic that gradually turns into a mountain range. I really like the side by side tracks idea for you and your dad man, good luck with it what ever you get man im sure itl be awesome

but there is a dope grateful dead t-shirt i saw once where the mountain looked like a skeleton with a fuckload of gnarly cliffs and the skier is a skeleton with dead gear on--if you arent a fan of the dead maybe do that without the dead gear
 
i think this would be cool but you should make one track stop halfway down to represent your dad's death and then put "RIP DAD" under the end of that track and make your track go on.

For sure man. What I think is cool about it is that it can be as simple or complex as you want. Like said above, you make one track stop before the other and instead of going into rip or something have it go into the quote you were thinking about.

Also, just wanted to say sorry about your dad. Mine passed away 2 years ago and I think about him every day. There are good days and bad days, but stay positive man.
 
sorry about your loss. if I where you I would get a tatto on my back like near my shoulder, like previously said make it something that directly connects to your dad. I like your idea, make it creative, good luck!
 
no theres no rules or requirments for getting a tattoo, other than 'word tattoos are fucking lame'. the side by side ski tracks are the best suggestion in the thread.

and to the dude with the weed leaf icon; you have a weed leaf icon.
