Ski Sundown 11-12 Thread

Haha, Chris must be getting REALLY good at making snow cause last time I checked 62 degrees with 61% humidity is WAY outside the butter zone for snow making.

Hahaa.

Have you guys been paying attention to the weather? At this point opening day will be in January.. I just want to learn how to ski! D:

ps. what the hell is this shit

This season for our Passholders only we are

introducing the Ski Sundown Access Card.

Instead of a traditional pass, you will get an Access Card that works as

an antenna that will be read as you approach our new RFID gates at all of our

base area lifts. Electronic readers will

identify your Access Card as valid, display your photo and you proceed on to

the chairlift. This Access Card is good

forever and it will allow you to be eligible for ongoing promotions and

discounts. Starting with the 2012-2013

season, you will be able to purchase and load onto the Access Card almost

everything Ski Sundown has to offer, either here at Ski Sundown or right from

your home computer. Your Card will be

your gateway to the whole mountain

Season pass holders this year will get an RFID pass (they had them at PC and they're sweet cause you never have to hold your pass out to get it scanned, it can be in your pocket all day and you just go through). Also, since regular ticket holders don't have them this year, Access Pass holders will get their own line cause they go through a turnstyle to get on the lift. It'll make lift lines much faster and smoother.

alta has it and it works well there. PC works well too but its more of a hassle, there lift line system really sucks right now.

thats dank for the passholders, youll defiantly get in quicker than the normal lines on crowded days. unless the lifties go one line to the other, i think it would be a nice gift for the kids that their lines would be quicker, they do pay 500 bucks

it's hot outside.

December 11th Sun and Ski Event... i wanted to do "long practice" with a short-ish best trick.... everyone dig? or do we want a different format. set ups will be determined by amount of snow we can produce by that time.

3 days ago it was $480...

And to be honest, no, it's not ridiculous at all, you go 10 times and it's payed for itself (and that's at the $590 price). I know most kids that get passes end up skiing probably 30+ days a season (and that's being conservative), 30 days of skiing is about $1500 worth of lift tickets...

Or, I suppose you could send $1250 on a Mount Snow pass and drive 3hours or so to get there...

They're saying the 17th as of now I guess. You better not change the date, because I kinda just took every friday of ski season off from work.. Hahah

Hmm im debating getting it. I get out of school at 1:20 everyday but i live in glastonbury so it's like 45 minutes to an hour drive which would kinda blow for gas. Park was actually pretty good last year right?

well... this sucks.... it's hot.

we're looking at some better weather coming at us. it'll take 3 good nights / partial days of snowmaking to get open with Canyon, Nor' Easter, Temptor, Stinger (park) exhibition and little joe.

there's no way to predict what the park will have until we push out the snow... that said, we'll have a park, we're gonna work our asses off all winter to improve and create. we're all (everyone who works at a ski area anywhere) freaking out and waiting. believe me, when its on, every place in new england is gonna be up and running really really quickly. after last year this is about as tortorous (sp?) as it gets.

weathers been wacky everywhere so give the old man jarrod some slack....stoked to see what you guys get goin this year, hopefully il make it down at some point ay

did you ship my pair yet? haha

no one's giving us shit... at least not to our face.... well maybe flashkick101's face, but not mine.

gotta get through the rain first before we go claiming anything. we'll have photos and video up on twitter / facedork of the push out / build...

park is being built by hand at 5am tomorrow morning, we'll let you know while we're working so you'll have something to wake up to.

as far as lift tickets, not exactly sure, but I think I saw $15 off normal pricing for adult day, and $10 off adult night...but don't quote me on that one.

The past few days we've been putting in by hand, which takes about 20x longer than with a snowcat. If all goes to plan jarrod will be able to use the cat in the morning tomorrow and put more stuff out. There's currently two rails up now, which unlike the past few nights don't have to come down, and hopefully more will be added in the morning, we'll see.

BWALM CALLOUT: you said you'd get my pole! It's still sitting right ON the second lift tower from the top!

i need my baby :)

inb4 page 3?

It's an...

You know what, I don't even know. I just want to learn park yo!

Sullenberger at least taught me how to step onto the round 16 on Monday and i got half of it.. But that doesn't count IMO.

NOTE: trying to preserve snow, so not driving cats on it this morning. we're gonna get through to day, finish the A-Frame Box and take a look around Stinger for a good place to stick that tomorrow if there's time. if we're making snow then there's no way anything new is coming out to the trail... and we'll probably remove the two low to the ground rails, hitching post as well.... AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

You guys are kicking ass considering what the weather has thrown at you. I had a lot of fun there yesterday. Keep it up guys

built a christmas jump. the boys are pushing out Tom's now. hoping to get some stuff up there if they finish in time. Gunny maybe, sensation probably.... looking ambitious, but possible to be 100% by the weeks end...... fingers crossed. oh yea... my goal is a 2nd jump, let's keep that between you and me though.
