Ski Sundown 10/11 Season

because putting out the "plan" and then not following through only to hear wah wah wah is way more annoying than not discussing it.

in other news, we've started. big red got moved.

speaking of big red..............................Theres no way it's staying the way it is now, right? You probably just didn't have time to start burying it...... right?!

It's been put into place, needs some snow coving the legs and it's good to go. 32 is also setup as an urban down. More to come as the week finishes out.

NEVER!!

I believe he was referring to Chris being able to enter the comp for free if he helped shovel.

noted... that was what i was refering to... i;ll tell you this mr flash. you work for free and chris can cash your check haha.

So i saw the jump like feature, and don't want to offend anyone... But I think it's too small, the flat atleast, because kids arent going to be landing perfectly on the small Landing area, probably could be closer to the middle

For those wondering about registration, there will be a registration table in the main lodge at Sundown for registration (it's usually right outside the cafeteria/bar).

The course is done, and features the following:

"Big Red" mellow down rail

Step-Up to Butterpad to Step-down

32' Urban Down Rail

35' Step-down at the end

The mountain opens at 8am, practice begins at 9am, get there early so you can preview the course before practice so you can take your speed check runs right at 9 and being really practicing right after that. The park crew is getting there extra early to make sure this rain doesn't hold us back/deteriorate course conditions. Gonna be an awesome time, can't wait to see what get's thrown down!

congrats to harwood and dugger. their runs sounded sick. everyone still in CT please convince these 2 to pursue skiing, they both have bright futures if they put the effort and time in

I think they somehow want to keep it a secret so no one goes...but yeah, I would suggest everyone be at Sundown tomorrow at some point...you'll be most pleased...

Soooooo.... cannon-lift tower rail comes out, and the same jump goes back ?? I like how it was really wide, and poppy, but maybe a bigger gap with a nice flat?

I could be wrong but I think Sundown is owned by a private company, so I'm not sure if they would allow that. It's not like mtns in VT, NH and out west where they are located in state parks. But that would be sick if you can.

Any pics of even just the set up...let alone what went down on it???

oh, boohoo...the jump will be back soon...we just want to keep the cannon up for a little bit (most likely only a couple of days even...).

No, you cannot hike to hit features after the mountain is closed.

Yes, the hill get worked on all spring and summer (lift maintenance, trimming trees, ect.), plus all the rails need to get put away after closing...they don't sit out on the hill all summer...

you guys can get a pick up truck and go get pick up snow for a summer sesh. i bet it wouldnt be much work for a cat driver to push a decent sized near the ski patrol for kids to pick up snow if there was actually interest from you guys
