Ski Sundown 09-10 Season

good post. i 100% agree.

its a good thing to not be a total doucher and just yell at kids in the park, when a simple "could you please move off the landing" would work just fine.

ROOOOCCKKKKKKKKK with it.

haha, but im gonna hopefuly suceed the S tonite, last night the farthest i got was a little over 2/3

add kicking again.... going to rearrange for vacation week....

going to end up with simpler and straightforward rails and boxes...

2 things:

first off who has a recent report of whats up. from top to bottom please. im headed up tommorow after school and wanna know what to expect.

secondly, who was the skier i saw at mt snow dew tour on saturday. nt titanium and then later on nitro. i recognized you from sundown and said whatsup, purple jacket and white pants. WHO ARE YOU! i was in the yellow pants and the pier 32 white jiberish crew.

that is all. thanks

did anything change about it? i just cant see myself throwing any tricks on it. the lip has no pop, your a good 2 feet off the ground at all times, landings pretty flat, and its always pretty icy.

i understand how jarrods trying to make a good jump "disguised" as a different one and in theory it would work where you could take it kinda deep or real deep, but with all the joeys landing right at the top then sliding down the whole thing it gets icy and isnt really sick

yeah, I've gotten cork 5 on it (at least the way it was, don't know if it changed), but I can't really see much more that that and still have it look good, I've seen 7s and 9s hucked on it, but they are clearly hucked. I've been thinking of whipping off a cork 7, but not sure if there's really enough time...

yea i just dont feel the need to try stuff on a jump that i can only see coming out bad. (im fuckin jon olsson haha). just gota wait to hit up the freshly opened dew tour course or wait for one of the good sundown comps i guess

thanks sam

thinking of taking out the cannon and trap and putting something else there next week after the lyman orchards rail jam (this weekend if anyone wants to come out.)

Hey I'm just gunna throw this out there but I would love to see the flat rail up top moved to some place else. I always end up talking to people about how its a pain to hit cause you have to bomb Nor Easter just to get enough speed for it, and when it's busy you have to compete and ski around other people on Nor Easter and usually end up getting cut off. Is there anyway you guys could move it down to someplace like where the Cannon or the Unbow is. That's just my 2 cents. Other than that the Park is Sick. thanks

we were just talking...

after the rail jam this weekend in middlefield, we'll bring the new rainbow box up top, make a giant start pile, dig out big dfd (again) and replace trap and cannon with a flat up down rail and the flat down flat box (flat up flat?) and put that little 16 footer as a mini urb down somewhere.... then, in the shop, hack up the wall and make a mini 45 degree wall to put where unbow is....

then focus on sartorius slopestyle course then the go go mini pipe then the s7 slope.

sounds sick. Can't wait to play around with the rainbow box. Just leave big red and the 32 where they are, such a fun set-up.

park is so money right now. flat rails fun a little sticky but whatever.

S is dope, try to dig it out a little, tips and tails catch sometimes

DFD is ight, sticky and too burried in. a more urban lip would be cool too

big red is money

32 would be sicker with a normal lip on instead of urban flatbar. i would like to be able to hit it switch without popping so much that i lose my balance. and coming switch out of the big red and just going in switch would make alot more lines possible.

unbow is sick. really slidy but the landing should be a little steeper and closer to the rail imo.

i didnt hit any of the other features so i cant complain about those :p keep up the good work though

No, I like it urban right now, cause the only people that hit it actually know what they're doing. I agree with the switch idea but I kinda like the challenge.

a challenge...? thats kinda stupid imo. flat bars are normally not urban because you can throw SO many more tricks. try and 270 onto a flat bar that has a decent urban on, youl have to pop like a mutherfucker.

yea thats what im saying. i could care less if other people hit it ya knoww. im just tryin to have it be the easiest to greese to i can work on swaps and spins on.

another idea make the circle red rail a urban down? kind of like how keystone has those circle down rails in the new jiberish edit. i know the red rocket is not as long but thats rail is probably the one that i would feel most comfortable spinning onto as a urban

It's really not that flat, its got a bit of a down to it...and I just personally like it right now, it's my favorite rail right now.

I feel like the urban that was going on with the DFD before and now with the 32 is a little sketch, maybe if it was mellow and flat it would be sick, lil demo of what the 32 is now and what would be Cool

What it was like in the beggining last year was cool too, with a mellow flat Lip

haha... man...

we'll get take care of the S and DFD shortly.

Big red and 32 are going to stay the same.... a couple of reasons, 1, we like it, 2, they're close together so a "normal" lip on 32 wouldnt fit snow cat wise and 3, we're ripping them out in march to build the go-pen mini pipe. meaning we'll relocate them elsewhere.

how about ideas for teh top steep?

Red Rocket set up as down (like at Wilton)? I would be nice to see the A-Frame again, but I don't know how that would work up there.

If they ripped out the little box next to the unbow it would be a sick place for the aframe, and yes I really want the red rocket urban down.

jarod park is dooooope, shredded a lot over break. i have a few criticisms tho, top rail in a bad place but that is being taken care of, s rail is becoming dangerous because it needs to be dug out. dfd neeeeeds to be an urban lip like a legit urban lip on and needs to be dug out. big red=money maybe dug out a little bit for bigger spins out. 32 is sooo slidy i love it but itd be much more trickable with a normal lip on like that rail could be legit slayed with a normal lip, unbow is the dopest but with a larger/steeper landing itd be even better. otherwise SUNDOWN IS BLOWIN UP

been surfing around couches at mt snow, but now I'm back in ct. It'd be straight to set up the 32 urban with at least a foot ollie on pleasssssee. The last time I was at sundown it was bowed and there wasn't enough room to properly set up for a trick after big red. As evan said set the pole jam up as an urban down as well.
