Ski Sundown 09-10 Season

by large circle rail do you mean "red rocket", aka the rail jam rail, aka one of my favorite rails?

jea. the lip kinda throws you at it if the lip was a lil more along the angle of the rail it would be money. get your ass healthy so you can shred again

Aight, it's still my favorite rail, I'll figure out a way to hit it. Ankles feeling much better - it killed for 3 days after the comp, it's never really been that bad before. I'm probably gonna go tomorrow for a bit and just have a chill session to get back on my skis, then I'll be there on Saturday to throw down with everyone, then I'm tramp/foam pit session Saturday night, and then back to Sundown on Sunday. I've been stretching and rehabbing all week so I should be good to go all weekend, see you cats there.

DFD is set-up as a super nice urban now, the lips on both jumps were fixed, everything else is the same. Although, with all this rain, who knows how the park will look - we might even be looking a total rebuild, which is that's the case, I'd like to see the bottom (big red/32) stay the same, and have the cannon at a more mellow angle. There's probably not enough snow yet, but it'd be nice to see the unbow up and the a-frame box up too. The bottom jump is as fun as it can be, I haven't really spent much time on the other jump (I like the rail section much better right now), the s-rail is probably the most fun and challenging feature in the park, I think it should stay for sure. I'm sure no matter what, the park will be fun, it's pretty fun right now, so it should only get better from here.

yes^ keep big red and the 32 like that forever, when we get more snow itd be nice to see the big FD, the unbow and the rainbow. not a huge fan of the a frame box since rails are just so much nicer than boxes and the S rail is so dope. always a challenge and it just feels so good when greased

worth going? what are you going to do.... not go?

suprisingly not bad....

snow making later this week... complete overhaul Friday

reasonably a flat bar would be nice. unreasonably the unbow, huge DFD(seeing it just chillin all year has made me antsy, and a nice jump

you mean FDF?

unbow not out of question...

flat bar? big red ?

or you want the first rail flat again?

where is c box going to go?

yes i did mean flat down flat. unbow would be fun. i want a flat bar that we can practice more tech rail tricks kinda how the flat bar was set up at the begining of stinger but i like the shooter there.
if you guys actually build a bigger jump where the mini one is in the middle of stinger, you could bank the c box up against the left side of it. if you can picture what im trying to say

id like to see the up rail on the top be turned back into a flat bar. unbow would be funnn. and maybe put a flat box set up regularly somewhere in there

looks like monday now... snow making begins tonight into sunday... so we'll be dealing with that. but we need it so whatever.

today was one of the best days so far. Good setup, good snow, nice weather. Hope it keeps up for tomorrow and monday.

first rail is now flat

s rail is 100 percent better

Big dfd is 100 percent back to good

weird jump has been replaced by 3 rollers

trap and cannon, big red and 32 remain same for now

16 box got fixed

jump is same as it was this weekend...

going in soon.... mini fdf, unbow, barrels, q/p and another box... sweet.

then mini park gets a major overhaul...

meaning quarter pipe??? If so where? and how big?
Everything sounds so good, mellowing out the cannon at bit would be nice, but other than that, sick.

just a suggestion, put the unbow where the fucked up jump was so theres snow to move around for a legit landing

nice, should still be fun.
I'll be there later today, Erik's coming to film/photo again for me so I gotta wait for him to get out out of school, but I'll come find you when I get there.

i heard some kid fell off the chairlift an hour or so ago and broke his arm? where on the lift did he fall off, and how?

Unbow = REALLY good, super fun (although I didn't hit it too much today cause I was working on getting my corks back...I apparently lost them, but I'll just keep practicing - if you see me doing the stupidest looking 5 every, that's why). Q/P is in a really good spot and looks like it's gonna be really fun, can't wait. Bummer about the radiator, is it fixed/gonna be fixed soon? See you tomorrow!

Wow, what a crazy day... Started off awesome, got my Cork 5s back, which is nice. I decided to go with a style day on rails, not many spins in or out, just presses and taps. Learned a new butter I've never seen before, nose butter 270 hop over to tail butter 270 (540 total). And then it got dark... and for whatever reason the lights were screwed up, which cause some chaos in the park. This is when things really bad, since it's a school day there were after school buses there, which is fine, I used to love ski bus when I was in school, but it was like they all decided to go into the park, which again, I'm fine with - where else is the next generation of park rats gonna come from, that is until they start doing dumb stuff, not look where they're going, cutting people off, and standing on landings/lips without looking around. That mixed with the darkness created a very unsafe environment to the park riders, in fact I LITERALLY almost killed some little girl today, and it wouldn't have been my fault at all. I was approaching the Unbow at a decent speed and some little girls comes out of nowhere (at least I couldn't see her cause it was dark where she was), all I saw was Jeff (Ski Patroller) yelling at something and then I realized why...the little girl was skiing TOWARDS the Unbow...WHILE I'm on it! There was nothing I could do but launch off and hope I don't land on her, which luckily I didn't.
I'm posting this as a public service... I know a lot of the "veteran" park skiers will make sure they tell people (although not always in the nicest way) to watch out or move out of the way, but not all the new kids will. So, if you see someone doing something completely stupid in the park (i.e. not looking where they're going, cutting people off, standing on landings, ect.) make sure you tell them that what they are doing is not safe to them or to the people in the park. I've learned that the best way to go about this is to tell them nicely, and then if they still don't stop, try finding a park attendant or Jeff (some of the other Patrollers will talk to them, but a lot really don't care and think we're the ones that are unsafe). Yelling at them might work, but it usually just ends with small kids calling the park kids assholes and dicks and whatnot, so simply talking to them is probably the best way.
We all want to be safe and have fun, but we need to make sure that everyone, not just us, is safe too. I know EVERYONE hates it when people cut you off to jump off the sides of the rail takeoffs, but try to keep your anger at bay and simply tell them that what they are doing isn't what that's for, and is actually quite unsafe for the people actually using the park, because yelling at people for doing dumb stuff is why people outside the park think we're all just a bunch of "punk kids who don't know how to ski properly" (although I think Mullins proved everyone wrong last year at S7 during the bumps comp...).
Anyways, thanks for reading, I know it was long, and kinda ranty, but this is what is going to make our park more fun and enjoyable, and might even get the rest of the mountain to have a little more respect for us (Although, I know that A LOT of the employees already do).
