I have been doing alot of looking at skis lately. I weigh 140 lbs 5'8" and i ski almost 100% park. there is mostly small features in the park but i am a good skier. I like the ghetto fs and have been looking at them alot. wat do u think about thos. i am also open to any other suggestions. where i ski it is in the midwest and is very icy.

thanx

I've heard from alot of people that the fs's edge gets torn out easily from rails but i've skied the Invaders and TNK and both great Park skis

Assumng you will grow some more, 178 Line Invaders. Light, crazy poppy, cheap, and SUPER buttery. Perfect park ski and its cheap. If thats too long go for 171 but it shouldnt be.

im like same size as you. just demoed some 09 Blends. SOo sick. stiff enough for ice, but they had good flex as well. fun park ski

I'd say the volkl walls or invaders

both are pretty much 100% park skis and pretty light. for size I'd say 171 assuming you center mount (which if your in the park most of the time you should anyway)

Invaders! I skied them for a season in similar conditions. Great cheap ski that carves better than you would think. 171 if you dont plan on gaining any weight or keeping them more than a season 178 otherwise.

go for the scott p3's there super durable, bomb park ski, solid edges for icy condish and you can get them super cheap right now

scratch fs is a good solid ski for park to all mountain. It is light (assuming you are talking about the WRS), it is medium flex if not a little on the stiff side, but it is not bad at all. It holds its own really well outside of the park, along with obviously being a park ski and being able to do well in the park. If you get these skis, you can get the 06/07's 07/08's or 08/09 and they are all the same ski, just pick your graphic.

If you get these, mount them somewhere between modern and true center. Either of these points or somewhere in between will do fine, but mounting them behind the modern line is a bit silly for a park ski, just too far back.

Here is my $0.02:

If you want a medium to stiff park ski with some all around go for Volkl Walls or AR6. Both have a medium waist (both 87 mm in the longer lengths I believe) and both have good edge hold and good pop, I'd even give the Wall a slight edge on the pop. Both have durable edges and will hold up well to a beating.

For a medium flex ski, your first choice, the Scratch FS, or Scratch Ghetto is a great choice and will do well for what you want. [shameless plug] I do have a pair of '08 Ghettos in 174 cm if you interested. PM me [/shameless plug] Many dislike Salomon, but I still think the Foil is a great choice here, and many are getting all excited about next year's Suspect (even though it is appears to be a Foil with maybe a slightly different core, a little built sidewall support and different graphics).

As for soft park skis, there are a ton of them - the all popular Invader is probably the best combination of price and performance (don't forget the Fujative in that catagory), but if you have the money to spend, you've got to include T-Halls.

Good luck.

for small jumps and rails the invader is the best, next year you will be tired of them, but they will be fun to butter on and move up to bigger stuff

thats a good point, an improved foil
yea i'm a little wary of the new suspect/dumont i've heard some sketch things
and i've yet to see dumont on 09 dumonts, though he's been on the 07/08s with next years graphics...

hmm

I rode next years dumonts last week and they were super fun. Pretty much like last years dumont only with different graphics and a tiny bit stiffer i think, possibly a good choice for what you are describing looking for.

bump... i like the invaders but the graffix are gay.

wat do u guys think is a better ski, volkl wall or scratch fs?

wat is lighter?

^ so wat if the graphicks are gay its the quality of the skis the graphicks dont matter and who really stairs at the graphicks anyways

I'm gonna say the dynastar nothing but troubles, they would be stiff enough for a person your size, but you can still butter on them, and freeskiier gave it great reviews

moment reno jibs, my personal favorite skis, i had 161 invaders which were super light, then i rode my buds 171 jibs, which were somehow even lighter

i've heard good things about the invaders. I ski in similar conditions to you, and i am buying some invaders for next season.

I have the old Scratch FS (same as the Ghetto). I'm pretty hard on my skis but the edges are holding up alright. They're wearing a bit faster than my old K2s but they ski a hell of a lot nicer.

For 100% park you can't really go wrong with anything mentioned. Ghetto, Wall, AR6/T-Hall, Invader, Nothin But Trouble. All in a 170-175.
