Ski Sizing

I think im going to get the armada el rey and i was wondering what size i should get. I'm 5'9 i will mainly be doing rails maybe a few jumps but not big ones. I was thinking 171 because it will be smaller and quicker to swing around. If you dont think this is the right ski for me recommend me some. +K for help

If I were you I would go for the 178, it's a pretty light ski so you shouldn't have trouble throwing it around

Are you taking about the ski or binding?

If your younger and gonna grow some more, this setup will be good cause

you'll grow into it and it will last a while.

If your all done growing

maybe consider different bindings like the axium (another rossi binding)

with your weight. On the axial though you can set your din lower and still have the binding of a decent 12 din binding. Just make sure you take it to a shop that knows what there doing so they don't mess it up.

The el rey will maybe be a little stiff at first but as I said, if your still growing it I'll be good ski.

i was talking about the skis. and i might grow 1 or 2 more inches buts thats about it. maybe the halos or the alphas might be abetter pick

At your height it depends on if you prefer shorter or longer skis. 171's will be about shoulder height while 178's will be a bit taller than you. You might want to check out some other options that are offered in the 175-176 range.

Halos and A1 will ski short cause there both rockerd. Not saying you

cant get them but they a purely park ski. If thats what you want go for

it. Just remember to get bigger then normal cause of the rockerd ski.

The halo and A1 will also be a lot softer compared to the el rey. Halo

and A1 are made for serious buttering in the park.

If go with a 178 you'll have more stability on jumps and be able cruise faster because of the running length of the ski.

A 171 will spin faster and feel lighter, but really would only matter if your going for 540's and more. (future spins).

For just 360's and 180s off rails you should consider 178 as its good

for what you use. If your planning to progress a hole lot or doing

future spins, then consider a smaller ski because that extra less weight

will allow you to go 720's and beyond.

It all comes down to where you ride most. 100% park? 60%park 40%allmnt?

You gonna go hit tree runs? That should all come into your equation of

picking your ski. Not whats the hottest looking ski. The ski that fits

your riding abilities and your terrain choice.

yeah their site says that the el rey are stiffer. but my park has mainly rails and boxes. so with what you just said maybe the A1 because its stiffer than the halo yet it has the rocker so that will allow me to butter

as for the ratio 80% rails 20% all mt. yes some tree runs. and i am not choosing by the top sheet if i was i would choose the thall but thats a park ski. thanks for helping me and taking your time

No problem man. glad I could help some way. Personally you could pick any of armada's park skis and you would still rip it. Armada is one of the leaders in the ski manufactures in terms of quality. Whatever from armada, its gonna last a while.

Disclaimer to everyone else: I didn't say the best, so don't start yelling and screaming your favorite brand is best . Just giving the guy confidence in a product he's buying. Not trying to start a shit storm in here.

If you're going with halos definitely go for the 176, with the rocker they will ski a lot shorter
