Ski size

What’s a good park ski length for someone that’s is 5,5 like 124? Most skis lowest length is like 171 or 177 and I think they would be too big?

Choosing the right ski size is crucial to ensure you have the best skiing experience possible. The length of the ski should be based on your height, weight, and skiing ability. Generally, longer skis are better for beginners and lighter skiers, while even longer skis are better for advanced skiers and heavier skiers.

To determine the right ski size, use a ski sizing chart or consult with a ski length specialist. It's also important to take into account the ski's waist width and turn radius when choosing the right size.

Nah not even close. Either of those options would be fine. Depends how you ski, what you ski, ability, age (do you expect to grow in size and ability), etc. Want more stability at speed and landing, go longer. Want lighter skis and less swing weight, then go shorter. Either way neither of those is very large, and 171 borders small depending on the brand. Still a personal preference too. Gotta remember you'll be riding with nearly half that length behind you.

What qualifies someone to be a “ski length specialist”

Real talk you want like 160-165. What skis are you looking at? Where do you ski and what do you ski?

a few questions before we can give you any advice

A ski length specialist is someone who can help you choose the right ski length based on your height, weight, skiing ability level and other factors12. Ski technology has advanced so much that finding your most personalized ski length can get pretty exact2.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!?

I’ve never seen anyone so nice on Newschoolers.

Formula says you should be using 170's. Seems right, although I would think 165-170 would be the sweet spot for you right now. If you're growing/gaining weight still then I'd go low 170's.
