Ski size

Alright, since the forum search doesn't work, i have a ski size question to ask.

Im 5'3" 100 lbs, and im lookin at getting scratch pros for this year. I thought i would get 158s, but a guy at my local ski shop says that 148s would be better for me.

His argument is that since theyre wood core and pretty stiff compared to my old 1080 groms, (which are 145 cm foam core,so it seems to me that buying only 3 cm larger will be too small esp. if i want tow years) but he says the difference in flex makes up for the difference. Any thoughts?

he thinks theyll be hard to control and maybe a little dangerous, the 158s are a couple cm below my height

Oh yeah, you are 100 lbs, get 160s at the most, maybe 158 grom skis, but im guessing you are gonna grow so?

yeah scratch pro, but theyre wood core instead of foam 145 cm salomon 1080 groms last year, so he thinks theres gonna be a big diff between 145 foam core and 148 wood core

i dont think so just think its better for u, most ski shops thinks it's better but id go with 158 if i were u

The ski shop people always assume they're talking to a complete gaper, so they always say a size or two too small. Go with the larger size, you're still growing anyway, right?

yeah 158, and just mount em close to center. if you aren't a complete gaper you'll have no problem whatsoever with 158

how old are u kid? and is this your first year getting into park? u sound pretty young and probly have alot of growing to do...so I'd say go with about 160, it may be a little big but if your the age I think u r youll grow into them

you should think about the 170 if you are a solid skier they will be better for jumping and at high speeds for sure..the guy at your shop sounds like the average bonner who talks about skiing more than he actuallys skis. 165 would prolly be Ideal it just depends on where and how you are skiing.

I'm 5 11. i ski a 176. anyways, for sure go for 158. i find short skis hard to control, they should a few cms under your head.

if you're only 100lbs and 5'3" ish, 158's will be fine. The scratch pros are pretty much equivalent to a salomon 161cm, it's just the way they measure that is weird. take the 158.

yah id go with 158 cuz if there to big now they be perfect for u next year and u could get like 3 seasons out of them but if u get 148 ull grow out of them in a year

yah get the biger ones i have already told u this but i want to make sure u get the bigger ones
