Ski Size question answering time (figured I should)

Ok, I'm not THAT old, but didn't most people here at one point ski on skinny's? Best sticks I ever had for crud were 207 downhill race K2s (Comps). Cut through anything. Leave razor marks in sheer ice. I find it some hilarity in newschoolers wanting longer skis again.. I wonder if the next big thing will be doing chutes in 210s with jump turns from the uphill ski 'cause they're too stiff and long to barrel it. Time to pull out the old Schmidt films.

You fail to mention that back in the day those were strait cut fuckers that needed to be long to handle the turns. Try skiing a 207 in anything parabolic and catching and edge, you'd fuckin tear your legs off at the knee, and race skis have come a hell of a long way since then, first off they're short now, second they cut through straight granite if you really wanted to, and by the way if you were doing any kind of free skiing on skis as old as K2 comps you are that old.

dude, when i got my p12s mounted, the guy asked me what level for 1-3 and i said 3 and i weight 175lbs, and the dins were on 7 if i new they were going to be low i would have saved some money and got the p10s.

not true your p12s will hold up longer because there is less stress on your bindings.... a p12 at a din of 7 is less likely to break than a p10 at a din of 7

6' tall, about 150lbs, Not exactly pro but not anything close to a beginner. Can I ski on 180s or is that too much?

alright someone help me out here...i am 5'11'' and weigh 180 lbs. i want a strictly park ski and its come down to Fujis, Invaders and FS Scratch...the scratch seems like the best option case w/ binding and shipping i get them for 330, however the other two i get for 390 shipped but w/ slightly better bindings, not too much better tho...so without question id go with scratch but the only thing holding me back is they are 168 and my all mountain skis right now (04/05 skogens) are 178 and i feel they are perfect length but i hear 168 will be sweet for park....the fujis and invaders are 179 and 178(or 177) respectively. i need some help on which size makes the most sense cause i dont wanna go too short. thanks

ive got 176 Ar5's and 189 Seth's. i guess it comes down to personal preference if your contemplating between two different sizes. When i got my Ar5's i skiied on both the 176 and 180 and loved both. I liked the little bit extra control with the 176 in the park. As for the Seth's, those dominate everywhere. My suggestion would be to go with what you feel comfortable with, regardless of ability.

I know this is probly a wicked pain in the ass but i need some advice. If im 5'10" and 185, and i want a softer flex ski for park specific stuff, what length would be good? again im sorry for the redundancy.

its gotta matter what your doin though also cuz im a alpine skiier and i have 153s and im 5'9" weighing 140. i no if all i did was like normal or park or somthin i might wana go bigger but for alpine and slalom i was told to go short like in the 150-160

i just bought 159's, im 5 foot 2 and im 115 lbs, would that make it hard for me to adjust to my new skis? the skis i had before were 150

i usually just go with skis that come to somewhere around my forehead standing up. it's just what i feel comfortable with, and that's what you should base your decision on.

I'm 5'10 and about 170 and I rock 159 fuja's. I do find I have to struggle a little bit to keep the tips from bein snakey but I thought that was the normal behavior of twin tips.

I hope to get longer AR5's next season though.

im like 5'6 and 115 but wanting skis for next season mostly, i was thinknin the karmas 169, does this sound right?
