Ski size for park

This is going to be my 2nd season exploring park skiing. My question is that I ride 170 all mountain skis and would it benefit me to use a shorter park ski to learn on and then step up back to my normal length.

If anything, you'll want them longer. If you're using the ski for strictly park, you'll probably want to center mount them, and they'll feel shorter since most skis are mounted back from center.

I'm 5.7

a friend of mine has a pair of 08 Line Anthems 161's that were only used 3 times. They are centered mounted and in great shape. Would they be to short for me to learn rails on?

im 5'7" im on center mounted 171s... you should be too. you will appreciate the stability, especially on landings.

but its up to you. i would suggest 171s

Here's how I pick out my park skis, I try to get the size closest to my height. If I can't find a ski that is even with my height I'll try and find the one that is closer, but I lean a bit more to the longer size if I need to. So, you're 5' 7" you'll want a 171 or something close to it, but you could go down to like a 166ish ski if you want, but it wont be as stable as the longer ski.

i would suggest getting a ski that comes up to about nose height, though i prefer skis that are actually like 1 cm taller then myself, i think, since youre just getting into it, you might want something a little bit shorter then that to start.

If you can get the 161's and that's all you can get, don't sweat it. Friend who is no less than 5'10" rode 157's for 80% of this season.

The taller the better (to an extent of course) I prefer somethign that is just as high as me (Im 5.9) or 1-2 cms higher. I have tried 164 before and yeah they were very fun but didn't have the pop nor the stability of the taller ski.

So many times I would under rotate a front, rodeo or misty and you just butter out from the landing where if you had smaller skis you'd eat shit. I find switch easier on taller skis too. All in all as everyone else said ^^^^^ the taller the better, and it looks steezier on rails :D.

a fairly good chart right here.I like that it gives you a range. There really is a whole 15 cm of personal preference you have to factor in. For the most part though, the faster your're going, and the bigger the hits your going to do, the longer the ski you want to have under you.

Height in ft and in.

Height in CM

Length of ski you should use

If you're used to a 170 all mountain ski, going shorter will defs feel twiggy at first. keeping a bit of length will assist stability and feel shorter than expected due to centre mounting (as mentioned prev).

so i’m about 5’8 and expected to grow to about 5’10 for next year. I’m debating between the 166 park skis or the 177s of the 2020 line honey badgers. Currently i have 155s and i’m decent at rails but can land a 540. What size should i get?

I'm 5'9 and just got the armada bdogs 164. Cause they looked sick with my pivots lol. I ride kastle fx95hp 165 but the binding is on the armada are center cause it's a park ski. Is it to small for me? Please help.
