so im 5 foot 3 right now and am going to be around 5 foot 5 when the season starts. i weight 110 pounds.

im an aggresive/advanced skier and ski 50% groomers/ hardpacked and 50% park (time spent on jumps {dont exceed 20 feet or so, they are usually around 10 or 15 feet} and rails is split, or sometimes a little more time on rails)

This is also my first true year of park, but i learned the basics last year i.e. pretzels, 1's, 3's, handdrag 3's (almost corked)

I just got some 166 ar6's and they come over my head. regarding my size i think they may be a little too big?

Also where should i mount? im think 2.5 back right now...

it will make it a bit more skiddish and unstable all mountain. the upside is more equal swing weight and stability on rails. if ur doing 50/50 id say mount +2/+3. its still gonna give you tons of tail and rule switch (both riding and landing)

makes the most sense to me

for 50/50 allmountain/park id go with 2 back from center

i would really only center mount if it were a symmetrical ski

the skis will take some getting used to, but itll be better in the long run that you got the longer skis

I'm 5'5'' right now and like 116 lbs. I rode 166cm ar6s once. They seemed like a really good size, and i ski like 50% mountain and 50% park, consisting of mostly small to medium jumps. I ride 166 chronics now.

I think you'll definitely like them, and -2 from center or -3 would probably be good, my chronics are at -3 and i like them, they still kill the entire mountain.

thanks for all the responses guys.

i just have a feeling i wont be able to turn them when i go down the mountain for the first time.

about how many days of skiing does it take to get used to new skis?

Well obviously your going to be rusty and turning right away will be a little different, especially with new skis. I would mount them 2 or 3 back.

It all depends on the skier and the skis to determine how long it takes to get "used" to the ski. I rode prophet 100's and i was used to them in a day, but i rode invaders and it took me forever to get used to them. You'll know when you are.

anymore opinions on size of skis?

my brother keeps saying they are fucking huge and its starting to bother me that they may be...

LOL no way are they too big hahaha i was like 5"4 and i was on 167 chronics. granted it took a little longer to get used to but you wont have a single problem skiing on them. dont listen to your bro

bump..

thinking -1.5 because ive heard going 2.5 back really screws it up for rails

But i also want 2.5 for all mountain and carving purposes

(keep in mind i came from like 5 or 6 back skis haha)

do -1.5 yeah
you can still carve fine, dont worry, on my center mounted invaders i can get far enough over for some sweet boot drag falls.

hah no they are not too big. I'm 5'6" and my park skis are 171 and my pow/all mountain skis are 179.....so you will be fine. I recommend mounting your ar6s at 2 back from center. That should be perfect for 50% park 50% all mountain.

okay cool..is there a big difference from -1.5 and -2.5 on rails because i really want to progress on rails this year in the park
