Ski shop pre-employment drug testing

i applyed at utah ski and golf last week and they had me come in for a joke of an interview and then dropped a drug test on me. my mind was blown. no wonder their still hiring, they pay shit and require pre-employment testing. seriously, thats insane. even the resorts don't do that. has anyone ever heard of this? utah ski and golf is a fucking joke.
 
so is drug testing a big thing in the states? cause ive never heard of it here for getting a job. damn man invasion of privacy?
 
wow thats such BS...especially at a ski shop, i mean come on....most ski shop employees blaze. i can understand maybe if you are gettin high on the job...
 
wow, a ski shop where the employees aren't allowed to get fucked up? what the fuck do they do, play chrisitan music and have prayer circles between sales?

gosh, i've never worked at a shop where the owner even doesn't know how to party. it's skiing for christs sake.
 
that blows, but do they test you once u get the job? or is it a one time thing? cuz u can take some stuff that clears your system for a few hours, take the piss test and pass. it just really sucks is u get some testing done randomly once u get the job.
 
its the principal of the matter. why would you want to work at a ski shop that drug tests? thats like working at bar and having to take a breathelyzer.

i dunno i worked at a shop for a year i think if they brought in drug tests we all woulda been fired, ive never heard of drug testing for retail jobs

 
as for the drug test if you're only going to have an initial drug test to get the job just go buy some synthetic urine from a headshop (id recommend borosyndicate productions)
 
So either it is owned by the uptight rich racer and presumably golf kinda people oooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrr it's one of those reverse type things where they want you to ahve drugs in your system to know that you're super chill?
 
Dude are you kidding? I work at Golf and Ski Warehouse and the kid i buy nugg from is a fellow employee. And I know one of my managers burns... I don't really know what you're emphasizing on golf either, because most golfers actually like to drink on the course... as well as a few other things.. I work at a Golf course in the summer and its funny how many people come in and get fucked up before playing.

Grow up man, its like any real job you will have to get. Most jobs now require a drug test for new employees to start working. Its not that big of a deal if your smart about it.
 
Nailed it. Drug tesing is expensive and is fueled by insurance companies.. Solitude does it one time for new employees. It helps WEED out those who are to stupid to figure out how to pass. Real jobs bwaahh. grow up bwaahh pousers in neon suits from boulder vail callin UT fucked up bwwaaahh

If ski shops didn't allow employees to be fucked up on the job there would be no ski shops.
My customer service skills at a ski shop drastically improve when I've been drinking, not to a normal person's, but somewhere close. Painkillers can also help fill that gap. Instead of wishing customers a brutal injury and ruined vacation, I would only hope for a smaller, non-life threatening fall on the icy sidewalk.
Reading a din chart and base welding aren't fucking rocket science, you don't need to be sober to do the job, so why should you?

Look at Vail Resorts, they absolutely suck balls, but would they actually test their shop employees? No.
