I don't understand why all you west coast kids bitch so much. who the fuck cares whos snow is lighter. its september and your all ready getting snow so i dont want to hear your shit. I live in the fucking midwest, actually ohio. its nice having a 300 ft vert hill and recieving less than 60 in of snow a year. usually first snow is sumtime mid november. But you know what who cares i get to ski it may not be the best but its something. we dont get pow days or nun of that shit its always a complete sheet of ice. SO befor you say colorado or utah sucks ass then come to the midwest. dude i would kill to live in even new york or vermont its 30xxxx better than the midwest.
 
yeh i was the same as u livin in md, but now im in utah. so now it is finnaly my god earned right to say fuck the rest of the us we have snow..

moral of the story is when u go to college go to utah or co and have a blast
 
for anyone that notices... pulling weather info for alot of resorts off of weather.com only pulls from the nearest airport or dedicated station. sooo if i am looking at brighton alta or park city on some websites, it pulls weather info from the airport in heber. weather.com pulls it from salt lake. in the valley. best bet, go to the resorts website. and i love the snow but damn. i have to work in it tomorrow pouring 16 foot concrete walls. that's why i work at a resort, so i can play in the snow and not work until my body doesn't move! damn the early season snow, but maybe the resort will open sooner and i can relax for the winter...
 
i dont belive it i checked their website and it hasent been updated till march, and i talked to my brother who lives in Utah and says their no way that is possible

check the weather report; 6 inches tomorrow, a foot by the weekend, and then storms are lined up off the coast for next week.  brighton may open by next wednesday now, i hear.
 
I met a kid at the diving boards who works the lodge in brighton.... he says it's true, it might happen by wednesday.

Everybody chill. Utah does have lighter, drier snow than Colorado, but not by much.

And for the Utah kids blindly saying fuck Colorado (thinking we don't have snow right now without looking it up), shut your mouths. I've gotten snowed on for the past 2 weekends on climbing trips. Everthing up high is getting blasted. It is going to snow here in CO this weekend too, and it will be colder here in CO than SLC- just check the weather reports.

I'm going to a hut party on friday and it will be snowing. We're dragging a keg 5 miles up to our hut on the divide between Eldora and Winter Park, and I gaurantee that I will be having a better time than you kids in Utah with your early season core shots and half beer.
 
First Off - Early season out west rocks! For many reasons low-snow pack early season is sometimes better than mid/late season. Lets use Alpine Meadows or Kirk Wood as examples - early season (two years ago i skied waist deep top to bottom K-wood on October 14th) - is insane - these mountains especially Tahoe hills - get buried and flat with a deep snow pack - early season is way more gnar - rocks that are normally covered are huge and sketchball, waterfalls that you never see are exposed and craggy, chutes are closed out, lines that are nornamlly highways are narrow slots through cliff bands -

just bring your rock skis - I love watching donks on their new gear blow out their first turn with 1-foot of pow covering a scree field

thats cool you guys are getting more snow. colorado is still utah's red headed step child when it comes to the bigger picture. and the east coast blows too.

The ONLY thing that matters at a ski resort is how much fun YOU have, not what others are "missing out" on....

that's cool. i probably can't ski worth a damn, but who knows? maybe i can. time to let this die; this whole thread was made to get people who get way too worked up about internet talk all riled up. no ski resorts are opening any time soon here. colorado is just grand, along with anywhere else that people ski.
 
STOP hating plz colorado is dope utah is dope they both have their pluses and minuses so we should all cchill out and be happy for this snow not hate on one another, althoughi do wish brighton was closer but come winter break there better be some pow
