Ok so my family is thinking of going skiing near calgary for march beak(we would go to vancouver but my dads using points and no space for march break apparently, so hes like calgary!) One thing the mountain really can't be more then 2 and a half hours out of calgary. So far i've got Norquay , sunshine village , lake louise anyone whos gone to these resorts in march or any other resorts nearby .. feed back please. Also anyone whos gone to these resorts on march break, was there much powder, how much?

Thanks in advance

you should post this in regionals.
sunshine, louise, norquay, nakiska, castle is i think about 3 hrs.

I ski sunshine every weekend. The park will be up when you get out here, so it'll be good, and hopefully there's pow.

Everyone prefers their own hill. Personally, I don't recommend Norquay/Nakiska. Sunshine and Louise would probably be your best bet. If you're going for a drive try heading to fernie (it's about 3 hours).

Make the voyage out to Kicking Horse in Golden, it's about 45 minutes past Lake Louise. Usually, they get pretty good snow for March break. I'll be there for sure.

was out in Banff a few years ago, and absolutely loved sunshine. Louise was...decent. Good mountain and everything, but I just had a terrible day there for some reason.

Seems like few people in the area really ever recommend Norquay. Me and my buddy asked around about it, and I don't remember anyone saying that we definitely should go.

from calgary it is a bit of a ride, but its a great drive out there. Nice scenery once you get into the mountains.

I would hit up Kicking Horse in Golden if i was you. Or for the extra 30mins go to panorama, the snow is prime in march.

sunshine and louise are sick... lived in banff for a few years, kicking horse is also sick but the gondola is a pain in the ass. Louise is like 4000 acres + so its huge and has everything, I prefer sunshine and its pretty close to Calgary and usually has a decent amount of snow. Sunshine is sick cause its got mad natural features, like everywhere especially if you know where to look.

Definitely hit Sunshine and Lake Louise. Everything else out of Banff pales in comparison. Also consider going to Kicking Horse. It's a bit further but they have the sickest terrain ever.

If you want park, COP has everything you need. But mountain wise, i'd hit sunshine and louise. Kicking horse is dope to. My overall would be Sunshine though

you need to go to kicking horse! they tend to get a lot more snow than louise and sometimes sunshine

norquay will be a shit hole lake louise will probably be sick and same with sunshine and cop i dont think there will be powder but you never know sometimes theres random pow at sunshine at that time

alright So it seems Fernie, kicking horse, Lake Louis and sunshine are all sick...Probably 2 days at sunshine and one day at fernie or kicking horse.

Thanks alot guys!!
