Ski repair

I had 2 massive coreshots, and fixed them by just melting some plastic and stuffing the plastic in to the cracks, after that i melted it again with a soldering iron, and scraped the excess away. The already held up 3 ski days, what are y’all saying? Good or bad idea? I mean it held the water out, and the plastic stayed in place

What kinda plastic did you use

Idk what type but it’s just a random cube that i found laying around, but i testet some other plastics to, like old sunglasses and a clear plastic container, but those didn’t work because they didn’t stick to the ski but they melted good, wich the plastic cube didn’t do so well i struggled a little bit to make it melt.

If it holds up without cracking or anything then you’re good. Keep an eye on it though cause it might get brittle when it’s cold

If it works it works but ptex and metalgrip def aren’t expensive

Yea i know, but i hadn’t anything at home and i live a little bit out of town so i decided to try something new

I've been using UV resin lately. You can chop up fiberglass for added strength but that shit is super strong and you don't have to wait 24hrs for it to cure.
