Ski-Related Tattoos

Oh god... This is fucking hilarious, go look at the guys profile who got this tat on insta. The dude cant even fucking ski. He has videos of turning 360 degrees around on the snow flat on the ground. All his photos he puts #oldguyswhoskipark. Fucking hilarious go check it

If you're gonna get a ski tattoo, get something good.

I saw an amazing portrait tattoo of a guy with ski goggles on and in the reflection was like a guy holding a gun, so pissed I don't remember the artist.

It's not a poor tattoo. It's a pretty big dick move to take a tattoo that someone loves and is stoked about and try to convince them that it's shitty because that's how you see it.

from a technical stand point of tattooing, it is a poorly done tattoo. you can side with him and others all you want, but it's poorly done. lines that are supposed to be straight lines aren't straight. there's no use of negative space, nor is there a good balance of lights and darks. the one good choice the artist made was the shadow

Never gonne regret this one what so ever!:-D. Still think its funny, because often in Norway, its a free ink up of the tattoo when is 3-6 month old:)

So if I tell him that this line is ugly, that one should't be there, they fix it, for FREE :-D

"Come back in about 3-4 week so I can see how it went out"

- Jan (the artist)

And this is a good/much tattoo for 2000 NOK.

And I just payd 699 NOK :pp

You shouldn't ever regret it! It's a sick tat and it's about skiing so you know it won't ever lose meaning

I have sayd to me self, that ill never take a tattoo without meaning!:-D

So even when im 80, i dont regret it:-D

Only reason i regret just a little %, is beacouse it stopts my skiing for some more days now, but when its 1 - 1 1/2 weeks old, ill ski anyway:-D

Peace!

never said you were. but to address the things you brought up

1. just about every artist does free touch ups, usually you get them a month after you get it done. it's all dependent on your bodies healing time though.

2. 2000 nok for that tattoo wouldn't ever happen, at least in the US. in USD, that's about $320. you said it was an hour long tattoo. 699 nok is about $110. for an hour long tattoo, you actually got overcharged, at least if you got that in the US you would have. for an hour of work, that should have been about a $90, including tip.

3. no, you cannot tell them that line is "ugly" and they'll fix it. that line is there permanently. all they can do is add to the line, which will make it thicker and make the overall tattoo look heavier on that one side

As a general argument, that is false. To be more specific though, good artists will charge anywhere between $100-150/hour. Of course, different areas have different general prices. If you are paying $90/hour WITH tip, you are either getting a hook-up price or it is a really shitty tattoo artist. Trust me, I have gone both routes.

shop minimum/first hour for most places is between $60 and $80. after that, $100 for each additional hour is pretty typical

he didn't have a good artist though. we've already gone over sloppy lines and poor design as far as contrast goes

Where does your extensive tattoo knowledge come from? I've yet to see you post any of your work or the pieces you wear. Your awfully judgmental, for not showing off your own tattoos.

this is a thread on ski-related tattoos, of which i have none. yes i do have a tattoo, but it doesn't fit the criteria of this thread.my "extensive knowledge" comes from growing up around tattoos and watching a lot of them being done. my step dad has a full back piece, all of which was done by the owner of a shop near where i live and most of it i watched him do. i've watched him tattoo a fair amount of times. it doesn't take much knowledge to see when lines aren't straight or poor judgement with contrast has been made. anyone that's ever taken a class that remotely relates to art could point that out.

to the dude who asked why i'm such a fucking dick: take it how you want it, i'm just a realist. take all the offense you want to what i'm saying. never did i say that i hated the tattoo. it's a great concept, just poorly executed by the artist. almost as bad is the person who got it thinks it'll all just magically get fixed when he gets it touched up, which isn't how it works. he also thinks he got an awesome deal on it, when in reality he paid a fair amount above what the piece should have cost.

sorry y'all get so butthurt when someone critiques something, jesus christ

Holy shit, your step dad has a back piece? You must know your shit. He didn't get it done in America. You have no idea if he got a good deal or not. Let him enjoy having a sick tattoo. I'm pretty sure have the shit you're saying is just stuff your repeating from Ink Masters. Get off your high horse, nobody gives a fuck about your opinion. You can talk shit over NS to a kid in another country, you're so fucking cool.

thanks for catching feelings about it lil man. read a bit more of my post though. i've spend a lot of hours in shops just watching. and google lets me know if he got a good deal or not, since shop minimums around norway are about 500 nok (~ $80). half the shit sounds like i'm repeating ink masters? probably because they'd give the same if not harsher critiques of this tattoo. any good artist would (not that i'm a good artist). if nobody gave a fuck, why the fuck did you respond? y'all get so fucking butthurt when anyone critiques anything. if you don't wanna have to deal with people critiquing your shit or other peoples, then hop out the fucking thread or don't post. why is that so hard for you to grasp?

There is absolutely no need for you to trash other people's tattoos. Nowhere does it say that if you post a picture of your tattoo it must be critiqued. Therefor why don't you kindly take it upon yourself to be the one to hop out of the thread

So - you watch a lot of tattooing, you must be an expert. Leads me to believe whatever ink you wear, is marginal at best. More than likely done by the same artist you watched tattoo your step dad because you thought you were getting a sweet deal.

While all of that is really, really cool. You still have yet to post your work and have it judged, I mean "critiqued." You took this thread off course when you decided to be a douche, you might as well back it all up and show your tattoos.

Seeing as how your next response will probably be demanding me to show my ink, and backup my comments - I'll beat you to the punch. This was from last Christmas - it's done now, but this is the only photo I've got.

And this is my room mates leg, done by the same guy:

didn't say i was an expert, but i'm flattered that you think i am. no, it wasn't done by the same artist, but it was done at the same shop. no i didn't get a "sweet deal," i paid the artists' set price and gave her a good tip. watching tattooing is similar to watching sports; whether it's football, skiing, whatever, the only way you'll be able to see whether or not it was a good tackle or a cleanly thrown trick is to watch a lot.

here's mine, the start of a chest piece. obligatory "inb4 i get flamed because you guys don't like my personal piece"

hahahahahahahahaha, the ULTIMATE tool tattoo. i love how youve been talking shit this whole thread only to post a fucking cross!!

i was laughing to hard to notice the bible verse and latin words

pulls the whole chest piece together.

in tradition of this thread, time for you to post yours. unlike the others in this thread whose tattoo wasn't even being discussed, i literally could not find a shit to ever give of your opinion on it. i like it, so say what you want because it won't change my opinion at all

"really pulls the whole piece together" the other part hasn't been started yet. read a little bit homie

I've yet to get mine as I am saving up for it, but I plan on getting a blue bird as my ski-related tattoo.

you seem like for some reason you want us to think you know a lot about tattoos but nobody is buying it and even if they were its not like they would think you're cool because of it

actually, others in the thread are the ones that have been calling me the expert or having so much knowledge about it. i do know a fair amount about tattoos and tattooing though.

and yes all i've ever wanted is for 15 year olds on ns to think i'm cool. that's my life dream to be honest

are ya gonna get a heart with MOM on it right next to it?

ive read enough to know your a know-it-all. thanks homie

nope that wouldn't fit with what i want. and your last sentence is the same thing everyone else is doing. keep with your assumptions, they're wonderful

lol, just wondering but what goes with latin words, a bible verse and a cross other than a TAPOUT t shirt? your to easy man.

but your being a champ so i must say that that is a well done tattoo. i do like the wood, although it would look better as something that actually required some thought to design. im done now. best of luck man

What an awfully shitty chest piece. Bet you think you're a bad motherfucker for getting a cross on your chest.

For 500 NOK you'll lucky if you get a tattoo at the 2cm*2cm size :p

Its so expensive just because "everyone" in Norway got alot of money :p

Its around 1000 NOK if i go to a private person and take it, no thanks:p

And yes, they fix it if im not ok with:p mixing some colors and whola:D (i saw he doing it so i know;) or i can just peel of under healing ;)
