A friend and I need to do some sort of a fundraiser for school. We were thinking about donating the money to Alpine Initiatives or some other foundation related to global warming. I was wondering if you guys had any ideas for fundraising that is related in some way to skiing. We thought about maybe contacting a local resort and asking if we could sell their lift tickets at school and donate some of the profit. Im not sure about that yet though. Any other ideas? ++K :]

I like your idea and i think if you explained what the cause was the mtn would be good with it

ya email some resorts, thats a good idea. maybe like get a bus and have a bunch of people go down together, have like a lift ticket ride deal.

It might be a little too late, but I am hosting a "Such Is Life" premiere to raise money for my enviornmental club at my school. I know there are a few ski comapanies that are doing this such as Rage Films and Poor Boyz Productions. To license a "Such Is Life" premiere is $300 which in includes a bunch of DVDs from last year's movie, a few from this year's movie, and swag to give away. Poor Boyz cost $300 for "Reasons", "Reasons" and "Hunting Yeti" is $500 and "Reasons", "Hunting Yeti", and the Schweitzer Mountain JIB JAM, is $600. I don't know if they give you swag.

With the first idea, even if the resort isnt big on the idea you could get just a few tickets and have a raffle and the prize being a lift ticket for them and a friend... the only problem with that is renting the equipment so you might want to try to get that covered too...

Another Idea might be offering your self to give ski lessons if you have the time and such...

you really should donate the money to alpine inatives thats a great cause, and you might get some free gear lol. contacting the local mtn. is a great idea, but make sure you find enough people who are interested first. perhaps a rail jam at a local mtn?

we thought about rail jam, but it would cost alot for insurance and shit.

so far, we are planning to either

sell the discounted tickets,

have a raffle for a pair of tickets and lessons,

movie premier?

If a resort does night skiing nearby talk to them about getting ticks and then have your school sanction the event too on a school. Make it a family thing. also you could get some peeps to tailgate in the parking lot selling dogs, brats, and burgers.

just sayin for the idea of a rail jam its a ton of work, and almost impossible to get the insurance on your own, take my word i worked on it for awhile and the insurance was the only thing to keep it from happening . the movie premier sounds like kind of a sweet idea, but depending on where you go to school and how big your ski scene is there you might be pretty limited to how many people show up. the lift ticket idea is your best bet, though.
