im doing an opinion peice for my journalism course on all the hate that is around skiing, anyone have any examples of it? that they'd like to share? any verbal or physical abuse because of what your wearing on your feet? reply fast, im writing it as we speak!

i think i speaek for a lot of people when i say that like most of our friends are snowboarders, and we just haven fallen into that craze. make the rest up.

i guess that like they just always yell shit, and say like 'oohh you're sooo good (sarcastically)' and shit like when your riding fakie and stufff

Does't have to be between skiiers and snowboarders. Most of the stuff I see is within skiing.

Like kids yelling at little groms to get out of the way, paying out racers, all the kinda posse/gang vibe that a few places have.

Also the people that go nuts like swearing at a rail and shit. I mean its one thing to own the rail, but you don't need to look like a crack-head in the process.

couple seasons ago, some snowboarder jumped out of the trees on to a run, without looking if anyone was uphill, i skied by and he landed on my head and ended up breaking my jaw, and the fucker just got up and left, while i was laying there bleeding in the snow

shit i don't ride 164 i ride a huge 169 haha and ya i know i couldn't ride 210's i'm 5'9' i'm short... the bigest i would try to ride is maybe a 180 - 190 fat ski

yeah dude there is way a lot of hate around skiing like gay little fag snowlerbladers and then like gay racers thinking that they are better than everyone else. like one racer said that only real people can race and that jumping is for fags. but he was a raging homo. and then i always hear people dissing on snowlerblading, like they call them bustas and say 'i have never seen anyone go so huge without leaving the ground' but it is true. those are a few. oh and snowboarders a really bad!

 
i dunno you catch some flack from the boarders but mainly the ones who arent actually good and just tryin to be cool in front of their friends, mostly its the racers who are all like your on twintips you fag, poser... etc or making fun of racers and skiboarders...

when i chaperone ski trips with elementary schools all the 12 year old boarders who are oblivious and don't know anything make fun of me even though they can't even rock green runs and fall off the rope tow. they'll be like 'EWWWWWWW...skiing is for momma's boys' and then they go and listen to their S Club 7. ok, maybe not S Club 7 but u get the idea

yeah this snowboarder was bein a complete ass, actually i woulda done it with a skier cause he was bein such an ass, and he was buildin up a jump for for his friend, and he was standin by the lip sayin doint go off it and shit, so i ws just like fuck that and straight lined to the jump and he had a shovel and shit and he was wavin it but i completely cleared and pulled a mute or somethin and just rode off and looked back and yelled some shit at him and then he said hed kill me and i was just like fuck you and stayed away fomr him cause he had a shovel and he was like 6'0 and im only 5'3, but it felt good boostin air over him

most people, like at school, go on how much cooler snowboarding looks an you can do more tricks; not true of course... i cant think of all the hatred, but once you show poeple like freeze and powder and other magazines, they tend to shutup

ah... i had a little run in, i was in the pipe earlier last year, i attempted a 9, and kinda caught my right ski on the edge of the deck and bailed, both skis poped off and i was in the middle of the channel of the pipe, and this fag snowboarder is like right on my ass, doesnt pul more than 1 foot of air, and swirves to miss m and just starts going off like 'move the fuck out of the way you fuckin skier' and flicks me off, so i run to pop on my skis and just go down to this guy and just start saying why the hell he should shut his mouth consdering he didnt give me any time, he didnt pull shit for he sucked and i did, and i just happened to fall, he was such a arrogant ass...

yeah but where you live is a more highly evolved place of skiing and boarding, down here in CT we have some dipshit boarders that suck really bad and say they are boarders to be cool so they automatically diss skiers, which is retarded, and i need to pound something into their heads

i know that it isnt normally the case with those that get ripped on by snowboarders, but when you get flack from snowboarders do you still find it easy to rip on skiboarders?

 
I ski in Austria, where there's not much jibbing going on. Last year just me and a colleage from newzealand. Most crap that is yelled at you comes fromstupid ass racers. Especially Austrian racers as they thing they are the best in the world (well some of them are). Most of the yelling stops when you huch off a 8+ meters cliff(for u americans thats 25ft.) or just doing a backflip. I don't get much crap of snowboarders as all my friends there are boarders so we'll build kickers together and booze up at night so that's ok.
