ok ive been hearing a lot of shit being talked about ski racers, who here actually ski races. for one i do. now lets hear of some more.

i dont acutally race in a league but none of my friends who ski, ski park so i go to the top of the mountain and we race down the blacks its fun.

i was going to go for a quad daffy but i was like, why huck? -mommy
 
yup, i do. nothing amazing, I'm about a 70 point skier in technical.

used to, quit it when i really got into newschool...it was to constricting, the only thing i'd miss are the road trips and going to new mountains...that and hot tubbing with the racer chicks

I used to race, just quit this year...having more fun in the park now. But I'd have to agree that I miss the traveling to other mountains and all the benifits that go along with racing, but I dont miss the gates.

i did thru high school but it was the only way i could get out skiing every day and i didnt take it seriously, the only time i wore spandex was when my coaches locked me in a closet and wouldnt let me out

Being out there skiing every day, good or bad, just playing around with friends, with no contests or filming- that is the real spirit of skiing for me. that is why i started skiing, and if i lose those moments that is what will make me stop skiing.

its fun.. gets you up to the mountian. and you getta haul ass. i was not the best but i had a fun time. but my coach was an ex pro from canada and he loved park so half of our practices were in the park.

yeah jim, bruce is a cool coach. i still race, im about ~40th in the state of oregon in the OISRA league. its pretty fun.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

I raced for three years in high school and it was fun. It also helped me become such a better skier fundamentally.

I race, its a great way to get balance, and it teaches you good skiing skills, so when the park is shitty, you can get out and actually enjoy the snow.

1. spandex i'll never wear anything tight

2. gettin air is way more fun

the suits are not like spandex if you have ever worn them. And you should know that racing in gates can be just as big a thrill as jumps. It is not the same thing every run because every run is different, just like you can do different stuff on the same jump. If you have ever raced in a iced up super G or downhill, you are in more danger than if you are in the park. I race, but I still love the park.

 
I raced my senior year of high school, and I am doin it on my college ski team. Its cool cause nobody takes it real seriously, and we get a house in Mammoth to use whenever we want. We can also skip whatever races we want if we just want to ski powder or whatever. I like college racing though because we get to do skiercross along with GS and Slalom. Skiercross helped me get 7th overall in Southern California :)

yah, i used to race, made me a better skier too. i just got tired of it cause i only raced slalom and GS, who knows where i would be if i woulda been able to race Super G or Downhill, those events scare the shit outta me

i race on my high school team but its really nothing serious, i use my 1080s and i wear baggy pants and no speed suit, so its pretty chill cause i get to go skiing 2 times a week and my school pays for the lift tickets and all that shit, and on race days i ski the park in between my races and during practice i go ski park too so its pretty sweet
