this is such an old topic... no one would pass the drug testing, so fuck it.
i'd like to see skiing find a happy medium between where snowboarding and inline skating have gone (explosion of popularity vs. no one cares). i honestly think things are good right now where they are, but times will change, the industry will go through growing pains and hard times, but i'm just going to keep skiing regardless of what's in the olympics or how many planks the Flying Tomato rides. i was skiing when it wasn't cool to ski, i'm skiing while it is cool (now), and i'll continue when it's back to being lame. whether or not skiing superpipe is in the olympics is trivial as none of us will ever get to actually compete in it, so instead of worrying about it, why not just try to ignore what kind of commercial success some people are trying to milk out of skiing (and snowboarding) and just do what you enjoy? you'll be skiing when you're 70 and while it'll be nice to tell younger generations who you saw, the truly epic stories will be of the days when the powder was so deep you could barely ski and the lines so steep you almost fell off the side of the damn mountain.
we're going to debate superpipe in the olympics for a long, long time. just go fuckin ski instead. it'll be a lot more fun.
