Ski Pipe in olympics? Yes or no

i am just wondering what other people think about skiing in the olympics and eve though it isnt if they think it should or shouldnt ect. also how should it be judged

i think it would be kinda cool, but i wanna see skiing go another direction...olympics are cool and what not, and for some people would be essential, and yes it will get our sport on the map. But at some point its just grow our sport to the point where people will start calling everyone else posers, its already happening! More so this year as styles are dividing and going each and everyway. And thats just something i dont want to see in our sport. Its inevitable, but the olympics will only speed it up.

but like when i skiied with simon dumon this winter, i was like i skiied with simon dumont to kids at my school. they have no idea who he is. but EVERYONE knows who shaun white is. i want that kind of recognition lol.

it wouldn't really be in it right place if it was in the olympics. it would be out of place cuz when i think of the olympics i think of rich people and strict rules and all tht shit. and thts not what we are, were freestyle!

i have to agree with crossfade and i am one of the NS members who thinks a signature is part of it i get it but they just seem like a part of it

well i might say no, cause for one, im guessing half the athallets wouldn't even pass drug testing.

yes. now what i really wanna see either in x games or the olympics is a skiing best trick comp off one of those big olympic ski jump ramps

i dunno personally i wouldnt like to see it in the olympics, i think that it would mean another set of rules that people would have to follow if they want to compete and like the just doing whatever we want on skis is what seperates us from like freestyle aerialists or whatever theyre called (the ones with no poles who hit the super steep jumps and go all flippidy do) and it would be "good" for the sport in some ways and bad in others, so its a matter of what people think is a good thing for the sport.

i like skiing the way it is. however I dont like how when people ask me whether I ski or snowboard and when I answer "ski", tehyre kind of like, 'oh, thats not cool, only snowboarders are cool". I feel like if freestyle got some notoreity then the non-snowsport community would stop hating on us.

not even as it being underground, i mean it will reach the stage of that no matter what, but i think skiing is such a cool thing, it really is different, and inovated so many things in snowsports. I mean so many styles that skiers are creating these days, snowboarders will never touch. I'd love to see more skiers ripping, but the whole attitude from gangster is already changing, now its everyone fighting over whos bigger, better, what style is better. Everyone is trying to fucking define our sport. Which is the worst part about it. I mean yes i have my opinions, but i'd rather not have competitions, why should our sport be so divided. I mean obviously judges are going to judge praticular runs of Dumont and Carlson over that of Mahre and Pep, even though they did easier tricks they were so fucking steezy, whose to say which is better. I'm not, the judges dont know, no one does, and i know competitors have to make a living. But comps are just making our sport more divided and more of a hating sport. It should all just be about what it is, like we say we are freeskiers and freeriders, we should live by it.

basically our sport needs no definition, expectation or rules. Fuck that, yea comps are fun, but everyone changes, lots of kids that compete have attitude changes, and alot dont. If freeriding was it...it would be so much sicker! Comps are making skiing turn into something it should've never turned into. We had the opportunities to be different, and still do...take a stand.

i also have to say i board a lot right now and have skiid most of my life before boarding and i am going back to skiing as soon as i can get enough money for some skis and i know a lot of other people are too

yea deffinantly i get ripped on by some of the kids at my school because i ski even tho i am better than any skier or snowboarder in the park and pipe. if skiing was in the olympics people would see how much bigger we go and how much bigger our tricks are. it would get our sport so much more recognition. people would start taking park skiing more seriously.

ya i am stil undecided on where i think it should go i dont want to see a set rule system but it would be great for the sport

i like the question mark but pot isnt nearly as bad for you as cigarettes or even alcohol considering im pretty sure most of us drink more than just a glass of red wine for our hearts i mean it really has no reason to be illegal except the its a "gateway" drug which really is bullshit

i think tahts true but almost that i doing both feel some of that hostility from skiers too sometimes i mean someone on this has liek how many snowboarders does it take to screw in a lightbulb and its like basically talking shit and its liek seriously both groups go to have fun and compete hatin shouldnt go on

everybody in my area respects skiing, and the people who used to diss on it now dont speak when its mentioned

theres maybe 10-15 good ns locals at baker, but we bring a hella good rep for skiing back to town

no-one at my school skiis, cuz they think snowboarding is the cool thing. except for one kid who does the mogal thing and he is spancerd by marcedies

haha its actually horrible for you, it has 3 times the tar or something like that, and it makes most people fucking stupid, alot of kids that smoke arent, but alot are and are idiotic sounding as well as horrible with controling themselves and what they say. And it is a gateway, look at stats, i actually payed attentionin Bio, and Health classes. And they're worst than cigarette's because it does alter your state genious!

Word about the styles. I'm from Wisconsin and my friend is currently in Steamboat for the week. He said its sooo differant out there style wise. Around here everybody uses poles, maybe once in a while you don't use poles because you are messing around but everybody I know rides with poles. Also around here theres hardly any "gangsta" people. Pants are a little sagged, but nothing below the ass and XXXXXXL. He said out in Steamboat people were sporting the jerseys HUGE outerwear and almost everyone was no poling it.

Weird.

umm bud if people just smoke the plant leaves it has no tar and here are soem stats for you

Tobacco...............................340,000 - 395,000

Alcohol (excluding crime/accidents).............125,000+

Drug Overdose (prescription)............24,000 - 27,000

Drug Overdose (illegal)...................3,800 - 5,200

Marijuana.............................................0

that is yearly statistics and yes soem deaths are caused by teh effects of marijuana and peopel going driving or something and u seriously dont think tobacco could be considered a gateway drug its horrible for your body

http://web.lemoyne.edu/~hevern/psy340/graphics/cigarette.smoke.jpg

im not sayin either are particularly good but if they make such a big deal about marijuana then the same shoudl be done for alcohol and cigarettes

ya it would but snowboard pipe has almost standards when ski competitions are by the judges i mean xgames pipe this year showed that everyone thought tanner but the judges decided differently so we mean like would tehy ahve to make what is being looked for in a concrete way or leave it to simply the opinion of the judges in their own head to what is the most badass like ya they want to see a 1260 but they want a grab and what is that compared to a 1080 with a true nose or something like that

a. you can eat pot as opposed to smoking it.

b. it DOES NOT cause you to kill your brother like some ppl say.

c.my dad has the 3 reasons pot is bad

1. it costs money

2. its illegal

3. ppl kno ur hi

For one thing, there's a difference between the people who toke every day and the people who buy some shit and toke for a social event or occasion. I don't personally toke every day, except during the summer (haha) and as for the money issue? Well how much is sharing a moment with your close friends worth? So you pay 20 bucks and you get an evening of laughs. Works the same way as an amusement park, without the lines.

nooooooo i want skiing to go back to being ann underground sport with absolutly no recodnition and everybody thinking its lame. (not sarcastic)
