Ski Performance

How are so many NSers/skiers so good at describing ski performance? I have been skiing for over 30years and would have no idea how to product test a ski. Just a thought do people really know what skis better on crud then pow or are they bullshitting?

If you have been on skis for 30 years and can't tell the difference between skis..... That's just sad. Of course you can feel the difference between a stiff ski, that is stable at speed and likes to hold and edge vs a soft ski that can come around a turn easily but not hold an edge on harder snow. Just pay attention to what you are feeling under foot. Not all skis are made the same so of course they will feel different.

This. There are a world of different skis out there....and they all ski different. Not that hard to tell the difference between them.

You're probably selling yourself short. I bet if I gave you three different skis and had you ski each in the same variety of conditions for a day you could probably tell the difference enough to put words to.

I agree! If I tried all 3 in one day I could decipher. I just don't get how skiers can be so technical.
