Ski Patrol

So yesterday up skiing me and my friends are buildin this step-up booter below this pretty large bowl. We look up and see this patroller tryin to come down this face. He is side slippin down and can hardly turn both ways! How am i supposed to rely on him if i get in trouble? I think that resorts need to come out with some stricter standards. It kind of scared me. Im not really worried about me but what about the rest of those people up there who are less talented and not familiar with the mountain.

This reminds me of people at the ski shop who say "i dont need a helmet", I always tell them. It's not about how well of a skier you are, its the lunatic behind you that can steamroll you down..

dude i don't what mountain you were at but they should have rules when i applied for patrol i had to go through some pretty intense stuff. that is wierd about how we could barely ski it. hmm

id have to say i can outski every single ski patrol on my mountain and most at other mountains..its amazing to see how some can barely get down moguls

i got fucking smashed by a ski patroller ON THE FLAT AT THE BOTTEM OF THE HILL. I've had a broken clavicle for two weeks cause he couldn't take a few feet of slight ice. I can't ski for another two to three.

yeah my dad got hit by a ski patrol too..he was skiing down the side of a trail and the ski patrol cut across the trail from the other side and went straight into my dad..

idk about your moutions but at sugarbush if you r staf and see one fall you can have him bring you beer i like it a lot since most of them cant ski

the ski patrol at waterville are like mediokere skiers. I could proboblly out ski all of them. There is one nasty goy on an alpine board tho

and needless to say the weekend patrollers are just volunteers so they are there to do a job, but they don't get paid for it...

Not sure, but around here ski patrol is always volunteer work, unless they are employed directly by the ski resort. Which is a rare occasion. I'm pretty sure they have to put in specific hours (sorta like a time clock) to maintain their ski patrol status though. I have to agree some of them are rediculously dangerous on the slopes, like giving a powerhungry cop a gun and saying shoot anything or anyone that gives u shit.

...I thought the rocky mountains would be a little rockier then this...

...Yea that john denver's full of shit...

I have a hard time believing that all you guys can outski the patrollers. At my mountain all of them are the real deal. The may not ski park but everyone of them can shred the whole mountain.

some of them are on real power trips. be careful all you who enjoy skiing switch fast on the way to the park thay are watching. I nearly lost my pass at the begining og winter break cause of one what would I of done all brak without it.

hahah the ski patrol at blue hills (shitty mtn in MA) absolutley suck, but i can bacsically hike up the mountain in under 10 minutes so im not worried

hah, nopemajority are all volentier but we do it becasue of the benifits for other mountains and most of the the patrolers are either emt's, firefighters, or nurses for occupation.

Well, at my mountain, the ski patrol are can shredd pretty good. But the ski school is another story. This year, they had a shortage on instructors, so they hired everyone who applied. No joke, there were guys there that never ski before!! It was their first time! That is scary.
