SKI PATROL MEME CONTEST

On every mountain comes a ski patrol, which is mostly a guy in his late 30's early 40's, kinda on the chubby side and has most likely has short man syndrome and things he is on a episode of cops. Every time I say #YOLO the ski patrol are there yelling at me, they either have on a ugly yellow or red snowsuit and some outdated equipment. I’ll give it to the patrol I that had on some K2 twin tips. But the only time I would be happy to see the ski patrol would be if “I broke my ankles.” Even Wallisch and the ski patrol did not get along, as shown in the “Gaper Day Edit” Here is a meme that fits the reaction of every thug freeskier when see they see the ski patrol.

I love patrol. They keep me safe and throw big bombs that go boom!

Maybe patrol knows op cant turn.

O, and they can def out ski you I there old ass outdated equip!

Just this past weekend me and my friend were building this jump into some powder because the park wasn't open yet. Right when we got it finished, a ski patrol showed up and proceeded to trample our jump into nothing. So I'm not too fond of ski patrol.. They do that to me a lot, ruin some fun that isn't hurting anyone

Not sure where you live but where I've lived we need them.................

Who's gunna get the place cleared after a huge snow fall??............

Who's gunna get yer ass to help after you fuck yerself up in the middle of nowhere??.................

Who's gunna slow the gapers (maybe this is you) down when their outta control??........................

Chances are that if ya hate Patrol ya must be a n00b.....................................

Ill try to answer you questions.

1) The Snow Plow / Groomers 2) Ski Patrol 3) The pizza french fry technique

I am not saying the ski patrol don't save lives or anything like that, they just ruin your fun.

And The only time I am a Newb is on NS. ahaha.

The attitude of ski patrol is merely a reflection of the attitude of the mountain in general.

Thats what I meant. Just thought they were all the same with different jackets. Thanks PKchu$'s.

Sick Picture Btw

I'm glad mtns are doing this too.

Ski Patrol most often doesn't deserve the bad rep they get, since they shouldn't be the ones being the "cops" on the mountain, they are the medics. They are there to help the injured, not babysit the idiots.

This is very true. The other day a ski patrol at my hill in MN whacked a kid with his pole for being on the wrong side of the rope tow.

lmaoo yall wylin....the ski patrol jus doin a job an gettin paid minimum wage or they volunteerin.....they aint really care bout what yall do. they jus want free season pass and to shred whenever....deadass

Op's most likely an east coast skier...Or i feel there is more hatred to the east coast patroller.

Probably because they are mostly dicks. Less action maybe, or maybe its cause theres so many skiers with minimal skill in the east....

I had a patroller at sugarloaf chase me down because i straight lined a dbl black diamond trail with no other people on it, said i was skiing wrecklessly and could have crashed and i cant ski like that anymore.

I worked for the mountain but it was my day off and when i mentioned this he got even more pissed,i was perplexed!

Fuck ski patrol

this was the stupidest video I have ever seen. that guy wasn't even being a dick, he was kind of right saying that those kids should have got on the rope tow at the bottom like everyone else. IMO 2/10 on example of ski patrol being dicks.

I didnt post that video but literally nobody gets on the rope at the bottom, thats just asking to burn your gloves by not skiing into the rope

Back in my lift operator days, the paid patrollers were always respectful, cool, and would even help us shovel out in the morning. They'd also let us go with them on unopened/backcountry terrain on our breaks or days off if we were on the hill. The weekend warrior patrollers were always dickholes and are the mall cops of ski resorts. (Weekend warrior patrollers who are also ER doctors do not fall into the latter category because they can potentially save lives and don't yell at you to put the bar down)

There was a ski patrol at one of my home mountains Holimont that taught me how to ski back in the day. Probably one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Yellow jackets on the other hand... Fuck em

If you understood how the hyland rope works you wouldnt say that, it runs so much smoother when people just carve on. The people at the bottom that are "in front" are actually all the gapers that cant grab onto the high speed rope. I was there on this day and honestly there were so many more crashes on the rope when this patrol was standing there than there ever are. He actually made the situation much more dangerous than it usually is

Not 100% true. They don't have a ski patrol like in the states but here in Italy the carabinieri are the " ski patrol" oddly enough you can get fined for running into some one and going off trail

They're people who volunteer at the mountain for a free pass. They monitor runs with high traffic, blowing whistles at people going fast. They are the people who will clip your pass. Their job is to contain out of control skiers but they generally just fuck with the good skiers because they are going even faster than the out of control ones.

Some patrollers are dicks, some are awesome. Kind of like every other segment of society. There's dick hole teachers, and awesome teachers, annoying tradesmen, and awesome tradesmen etc. etc... I'm a volunteer patrol myself and I just can't understand some of the shit other patrollers get off on... I'm there to set up fences, help hurt people, and get people stoked... Not to be in a pissy mood and think I own the place.

Only stupid thing in recent memory that's happened is some kid thought it would be wise to take his snowboard off and send it rocketing down the t bar track, taking out 4 people on the way down...Plain stupidity deserves a talking to.

nice link op, but unfortunately I'm unable to do your hw until you PayPal me $5.

One again, i love patrol. Nothing like avy bombs and howitzer blasts to wake you up at 6am. Even when I lived n skiied the midwest, still had tons of love for patrol, they used to session kickers with us n look the other way when skiing the backside.

I don't get all of the hate on ski patrollers. That's probably because everyone that complains about them is 13 and doesn't respect any sort of authority. I used to session rails with a ski patroller, heck, he even made it into a meathead film or two I believe. Most of them are pretty nice guys if you just talk to them instead of making an ass of yourself.

Yellow jackets suck.

From my experience growing up in CT, the ski patrol sucks too. I would never let an incompetent fool drag me down in a sled.

If you've ever skied a hill with a tow rope you'd know that getting on the rope from a stand still blows, absolutely rips the shit out of your gloves, even my leather palmed ones I use on rope tows. It also causes a lot more kids who aren't very experience to fall on the rope, usually because it's very hard to get a grip on a high speed rope at a stand still. So I can kinda see where they're coming from.

That being said, there isn't a need for making that video and for kids to sit there and yell at him. He is just doing his job that he is most likely volunteering for. It is also most likely managements rule, and the patrol is just the enforcer. If you should be yelling at anyone it should be them.

I have never been told to slow down by ski patrol even when maching down green runs on the way back to a lift. When you see patrol, just rip some short quick carves to show your the best skier on the mountain and in complete control. And when you are heading back to the lift on greens and blues stay the fuck outta the middle of the run. rip down the very edge so that you stay the hell away form gapers, women, and chhildren.

Patrol tells people who look like they are going too fast for their skill level and the environment around them to slow down.

I had this bad experience with ski patrol one time at a ski area in NY with one of their patrolmen a week ago. Here's the story in short:

Myself and my friends were just looking for some untouched powder on an uncrowded open trail right at the top of the summit lift from the bottom of the mountain. At the end of the trail there was a orange rope and a snow gun in the middle of the trail. Unknowingly of me, there was a patrolman who was skiing down to the only obvious trail from the top to the bottom of the mountain. Luckily I was the last one out so I wen t unnoticed by the patrolman. He then started to yell from the top of his lungs at two of my friends who I was skiing with who were the first two out. He kept constantly demanding for their passes, telling them that the trail was closed, but there was no sign or rope across the opening of the trail stating that it was closed. Then another one of my friends put in his two cents toward the patrolman about how he was overreacting and other stuff because I zoned out on part of his statement. Then the patrolman set the first two free and started yelling at another friend, constantly telling him, "COME HERE!" Then another friend said, "Alright, let's bail," and we went down a few hundred yards down the trail and waited for a minute or two and he came down the trail toward us and he said that the patrolman didn't take his pass, yet we were aggravated by the patrolman for the rest of the time I was there.

TL;DR: A few of my friends almost lost their passes because they poached a trail with no closed rope or sign saying it was closed, thus a patrolman's jimmies were overly rustled.
