Ski pass holders

I was wondering what everyone used to hold a ski season pass? I was thinking of getting an arm band but wasn't sure of other options.

Would you just pull it out everytime it needed to be scanned? I was looking for something that could be scanned without taking it out.

If your mountain has scanners then they can usually read the pass through material

I got the peak pass for the east coast, first time getting it so not sure what they have.

if your mountain doesnt have the rfid scanners then a key ring on pants zipper works fine if they are sturdy

Gotcha, I was just looking for something that wouldn't flap all over the place but that might work fine.

If it is RFID you never have to take it out so just zip it in your pocket. If it is a barcode they can read it through plastic so if you have a clear plastic sleeve stitched inside the bottom of your jacket you can just flip it up and they can scan it or you can put it under the flap of a cargo pocket and flip that up. I have a couple jackets and a pair of pants set up like that and it is pretty nice.

Usually I just carry in my wallet though so I won't forget it if I switch jackets or something . My mountain typically just checks like once or twice a day and otherwise they just waive you through

I'm hoping they have the RFID scanner, this is the first year for the peak pass so not sure how they are doing it. I know in the past years they have done barcode.

Jacket sleeve or just any pocket, and if it isn't a scan system, then after a while the lifties just start to recognize ya

I just staple mine straight to my forearm. 5/8 staples usually work best. I also use a staple gun. You need a lot of power to get through the plastic pass and your skin.

What kind of staple gun do you use? The one I use doesn't work well with skin.

This is what I ended up doing, I went to guest services and they gave me the pass holder. It works well with my jacket being long so it’s covered until I need it.

When I was a little kid, my dad used packing tape to tape it to the forehead of my ski helmet. I was easily the coolest kid on the mountain.

Deer Valley locals ski with their passes strapped to their goggles like little kids cuz they gotta let everyone know their a passholder there

In my pocket , glove off soon as I hit the line pass out pass in glove on so I don’t hold up line but it is a pita mine has to b scanned like at a grocery store HS grid too but not all mountains have that, my local mountain doesnt

I don’t know where you at but if your resort got the RFID just keep in the jacket chest pocket. If not just throw it on a lanyard and hook it to the pants. Put the pass in the pocket and pull it out when needed. Lanyard is good cause it can move a bit more than a zip tie or whatever.

Saw some people with their icon passes doing the same. New trend?
