Ski movies just don't have intros like this anymore..

Recently dusted off High Society from the depths of my DVD shelf and watched it again, I forgot how good that movie was, and especially how much i loved the intro



Forever a classic.
 
I think yearbook was probably my favorite intro ever of all the old movies. Pretty funny stuff. And RIP Shane and CR
 
For sure, Matchstick's older flicks always had the best intros. The Briefcase and the Bowling game were classics.
 
ah i remember quoting the intro for yearbook almost nonstop for about 6 months after i saw it
 
that was incredibly sick but totally unrelated to skiing, I'd have to say I prefer intros like the one in refresh that give you the chills (in a good way) and just get you wicked pumped to ski
 
Reference most any snowboard or ski movie from those days and it had some kind of semi-humorous acted intro or theme. That trend died when everyone decided it was whack, even TGR did an into satirizing this exact style of intro. But everything goes in cycles I guess and we're nostalgic for this stuff again. Maybe it'll come back huge and all of the skiers can try their hand at acting, maybe it's not whack anymore?
 
its all about that throw back.

MSP did an awesome job with themed intros for the NWD series throughout the whole series. sooo entertaining.
 
this is the movie that made me and my buddies hit jumps like no tommrow
i love this movie and have it on vhs. and it brings me back to a nother time.
 
It was definitely original.

Then the straight cut to those buildings bumping "ONE, TWO, ONE-TWO-THREE-FOUR!" and boom...Brandon Becker. Amazing.
 
heh i remember when i got attitude by holmes cologne. i still have the bottle around somewhere.. it smelled pretty good it thought... totally made you ski better
 
Good stuff man. MSP had the sickest intros back in the day. If anyone can find the intro from the original Ski Movie I will give you a massive e-hug.

YES!!! Thank you! This whole movie is epic, I must have watched it a few hundred times when it came out on VHS. Props to an OG member coming through big.
 
this thread made me dig out my old vhs copy of high society.... which reminded me that seth actually is a living god.
 
evidence of a higher being indeed. i watched it last week, and was shocked to recall seth skiing at a similar level to his skiing today on what are essentially pre-shane mcconkey skis. but not actually shocked at all because it's seth, and we all know he's jesus.
 
is there any way you or someone could upload high society? it's one of the few movies from that time period i dont have/havent seen

I always really liked the intro to War, only because of that copter shot, its so intense and legit. It all depends on what got us stoked when we were younger, I feel like this is a throwback thread unintentiontially.
