SHUT THE FUCK UP WITH YOUR COTEX SHIT

"There's a monster in my pants

And It does a nasty dance

When it sees the light of day

You can hear the people say

Oh no, a monster! Oh no, a monster!...

There's a monster in my pants

And it does a modern dance

When it comes into a room

People hit it with a broom"-The B-52's

So is HD really a lot better? What's the difference? All good ski films are filmed in 16 mm so I think thats pretty HD... By HD you mean 32 mm?

I do wheelchair freestyle you should see me

hd is wicked...watch the shanghai six trailer

well SH6 and Warren Miller are shot in HDV, (consumer version of HD) which will make all the shots a lot cleaner in the movies, even though you cant use true HD on DVDs yet.

little_cucu: I got a tripod

monkeysteez: Me too, its in my pants.

The dvd's my be out soon but that still doesn't solve the issue of what to play them on. HD DVD players are pretty much non existant at this point.

The technical answer to the original question is NO. While a couple companies shot their videos on HDV cameras, the footage won't be distributed in HD, or HDV it will still have to be compressed to standard definition.

HDV video still looks good as standard def though.

They have BluRay recorders in Japan already.

But the biggest problem is that it is going to be a format war between HD DVD and BluRay, sort of like Beta vs. VHS.

Anyways, once HD DVD/BluRay players do come out, they aren't going to be cheap, so very few people will have them, so what would be the point in putting ski videos, which do not sell very many copies anyway, on an HD format?

HDDVD is currently getting destroyed by Blu-Ray. I don't know how these guys plan on distributing the movies in any sort of 720/1080 formats but I'm willing to bet I'll be getting a Quicktime file on a DVD. Nobody has a HDDVD/BluRay player yet.

the thing with HDDVD over bluray is that for bluray everyone is going to have to buy new DVD players, with HDDVD, you can use the same player you already own. i think.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

HDDVD physical media cannot be read by current red laser dvd players. It is not backward compatible with the dvd players that you all have now.

but if u get a ps3, u can use the blueray right?

oh all i meant was that while my parents will make it a point to buy the nicest, but also most expensive item, like an HD TV, i would be content with paying much less and getting a good television; just one that although is not as clear, saves you a huge sum of money.
