Ski movies for non skier

so one of my friends is going skiing with us to the French alps in feb, he’s never been skiing before and has no idea about ski culture (I know!!) - so he’s having ski lessons - but I really need to be able to show him some films or edits that would show him what it’s all about and inspire him

Any recommendations?

Panpan's Would You could serve as a good introduction if you want to show your friend what freeskiing is all about. Of course the production is not Level 1 level, but it's not just plain ski porn. Each (almost) rider gets a little introduction and tells you something about his life. Also it's free on YT and has maybe Carney's best seg to date.

Also the upcoming Keep It Real project will probably be the same and maybe better

Watched this again the other day. That carney seg is definitely the most hyped I get of all his edits.

And OP the adventure in transition stuff by banks gilberti is solid. Good inbounds riding and they’re only 10 minutes or so with upbeat music. I showed them to my mates when I was in a similar situation and they loved them

I watched Like a Lion with friends that don't ski and they loved it.

I may just have weird friends though...

Few Words might be a good choice as well as Like a Lion. Showing what some ski legends went through could be inspiring to your friend. He will also see how the ski industry has progressed regarding technologies, tricks and styles.

Chris Bentchetler's "Chasing AdVANture" can be a good call too.

Show them classic real skifi for some laughs and inspiration

Great call - they’ve already seen some of the real skifi stuff as they learnt on a dry slope in the uk - so they saw thane stuff filmed there.

I would say few words or this is home. Both of those edits are so good and I feel like they do a good job of balancing some story telling and amazing skiing. You can't go wrong with Candide or the faction crew

I loved a few words. Great story and even better skiing.
