Since there are so so many potentially good ski movies this year and a lot of people have seen some of em at premieres and shit, i want to get the reviews on all the ones u can think of. But try to only post ur reviews, i dont care to hear about what ones u wanna see or anything. Here are all the ones i can think of...

war is pretty good. the intro was definately the best ive ever seen. the comic book theme is really nicly done. the skiing isnt all too progressive except there is one massive 35" hit give or take. best segs were sammy c, zach davidson, andy mahre and candide in my opinion. the handrail shots are really nice. the soundtrack kinda ruined it for me though, especially in pep's case. better than rfa and x, but its still same old what i have come to expect from pbp. i thought up1.2 was better once again.

JW: Will skiers ever be as “ cool� as skaters? I think we’re trying way too hard.

CV: NO, our sport is way to inaccessible. You cant just go skiing, you need snow, mountains, expensive skis, boots, poles, goggles, clothes and then a car to even get to the mountain and finally pay way too much for a pass. Skating, all you need is a skateboard that is why we will never be “as cool.�

 
i ordered war, tbc, and shanghai 6 yesturday, but tbc wont be here for 2-3 weeks

my review of war:

Intro: Comic book thing is cool and different and some sick skiing. good song too.

JP: His best seg yet. so sick. crazy big mountain and some nasty jibbing too (huge concrete quad kink)

sammy/andreas: great flow, good to see new guys with some new styles and these guys throw down.

Anthony: good editing. kind of weak song, but I guess it works. Definetly sick skiing. pretty much all backcountry. super smoothe cab rightside spins

Vinnie: you could call it a "comeback" seggy. maybe its having a pro model, but something motivated vinnie to throw down like no other this year. He stomps switch in deeeeepp powder

Symms/TJ/Julien: funny intro. Symms is sooo sick its retarded! he need way more respect than he gets. cab cork 7 shifty like nothing. TJ's part is alright, and I liked seeing Julien back. hes stylie as usual

Seth: Its seth. nuff said

Pep: if you havent heard by now, its worth buying the movie for him

yeah, I am a retard and forgot Andy Mahre and Chris Benchettler. they are both retardedly good. Mahre kills pyramid. Benchettler stomps 1s off of big cliffs. Also, benchettler throws this really nice switch 9 in the bc and lands like nothing

I like war, I think it's got a pretty cool feel to it (comic book thing). The music is really a toss up, not my favorite by far. If i can recall it's kinda like a 60, 70s rock type of style. Gives me flashbacks of NAM. Candide's part however i really enjoy, and its got this asian hip hop kinda track to it, pimpin. Pop Yet Bottlez: saw the premier last night. Nothing is standing out in my mind about it at all, maybe because it wasn't that standout, and maybe cause i was extremely wasted.

 
War and UP1.2 where both good, war was decent, didnt live up to what i expected, still sick tho, and UP1.2 was funny and orginal like i expected, overall good movies, i liked seeing julian and jp back this year.

Stept Productions killed it this season with Blueprints...their second movie if im not mistaken. The editin was decent and the overall vibe was straight gangster. My favourite segment by far was the Ty Battersby segment which was followed by adam falker or whatever his name is. It kicked so much ass with the song "wax" which im still looking to download. if you can see this film, go for it cuz its really good for an am film

Whiteshine arrived today: This movie is really artistic. If you expect ski porn, don't buy it, but it has some amazing shots. They use heli shots at Le Massif, which look amazing with the river background. It is divided into trips, unlike a regular movie, there are only a few concrete segments. The soundtrack is great. I haven't had time to check out the bonus features yet.

 
yeah, i forgot to say that i was more so curious about this years movies. Although, since u brought it up, I have NASM and it is sweet.

Pop Yer Bottlez. These segs arent in the right order

Intro: good song and them "popping bottlez" as the movie title so states. i liked it

Kye: once you see his seg, NONE of you wil hate on him. He is sick!!! good backcountry and some good urbans and such.

Tanner: gaaaaah!! the shot of him coming into Chads full speed from behind is sooo sick! the rest of the seg too. throws down in the backcountry and some urbans with an excellent track

Petit Bros: Cal has only about 10 tricks or something. SEAN! damn when he gets first hit on powder booters... he gets head deep and stomps. MY FAV. SONG OF THE MOVIE IN THIS PART

Rainville: some siiick editing and good skiing, but seeing mammoth after mammoth gets a bit repetitive near the end of his seg.

C-Crew: like i said before, think Technine crew. Some snowboarders and Mikeal flashing C Crew along with Dipset as the track. i still liked it though

Pep: DAMN SONS. what can you say its Pep. But his closing trick was shown in the teaser so i guess thats my only complaint. otherwise he skis some big mountain switch lands switch and has THE BEST follow cam shot ever. A HUGe cab 5 in the backcountry with a smoove follow cam. the shot is in SKEEze from a different angle

CR: closes the movie to some Sean Paul. His best segment ever. his grabs, style, and overall trickage have improved soo much since last year. backcountry lines followed by huge 3s off cliffs and some siiiick follow cams of him skiing pow switch and such.

I LIKED IT THE MOST OF ANY MOVIE IVE SEEN but it wont be for everyone if your not into Hip hop or dancehall (reggae)

 
OOHH POOP forgot Biollo. if you havent heard, he kills unnaty tricks and stomps so hard in the BC. throws on pyrmaid too. i think mostly backcountry and urban much like the rest of the movie.. i remeber enjoying his segment a lot

ok i saw booter crunk, and its effing awesome. sammyu carlson had an amazing part...urban galore, even urban right here in bend! yea, so i looove booter crunk. war was really good too, but it was definately a lot more about booters then urban rails. wars whole theme was super cool tho, the comic book, and i loved the song collection, mars volata, ataris, and that good old edwin starr song...classic.

 
i can't wait untill first price comes out, its gonna be sickest movie this year! il give a review when i have seen it

I saw Shanghai Six this wednesday. It wasnt the whole movie, since it wasnt finished, but we got to see about 20-25 minutes. It was just insanely sick! Vanular hast one of the best segments ever, and all the other riders are sick too! Def. buy this movie!

BLUEBRINTS was total SHIT. its a bunch of kids, crappy video quality, and ok songs.

if you think this movie is good you havent seen many ski movies. i can just tell by the first ski seg that it was going to suck ass.

i was stunned it was all kids and no pro.

the video quality looked like a camera from the 90's.

the music is alright, but the skiing is horribly edited.

the only reason i bought the video was because it was $10 and 1/2 went to katrina (so they say)

the dvd label is made of something sticky on top. when you play the dvd it heats up and makes it even more sticky. just to the touch it can almost stick to your hand. after i played the dvd i tried to remove and watch something else. but to my surprise no dvd came out. it was stuck to the top of the player inside and took me 20 min to remove te fucker. it is now permanantly sticky and im willing to bet will get stuck the next time if i were to ever play it again.

all in all this is the worst movie i have bought in 7 years of my skiing fun. how could anyone possibly say the editing was good or the video was good quality. looks like a vhs quality camera or soemthing.

there is no arguing with blueprints, llisten to me when i say buy this movie

and for war which is pretty sick, growing on me to say soemthing, but anthony b;s seg i cant even watch cuz courteny love and hole just fuckin kill it. sorry for the effort that was put into the seg cuz that song i cant staaaaaaaaaaaand

dude don't be a douche, "I was surprised it was all kids and no pros" its called a fucking am movie, and they never claimed that there were pros in it. Also it was pretty good, definitely worth the $10, with half to katrina. it has a nice vibe, some of the skiing is really good and for some inexplicable reason it gets me ridiculously pumped to go skiing. Also, i've watched it prolly 15-20 times and I haven't had any problems with the sticky stuff you were talking about.
