Ski movie idea so unoriginal it is original

Has anyone seen the old school movie SKI TO THE MAX

well if you havent then ill tell you. its an old school movie from like 2000 i think and it was made for i max. so anyways its got these epic and sometimes cheesy scenes. for example one shot they have is two skier doing powder lines during the night with road flares in thier hands. another example is theres a whole bunch of men dressed in black who chase this one lady on skis down the hill onto a bob sled track then jumping of a terminal cliff escaping the men in black. And last example is they have some skier mouthing off to a boarder leading to a whole bunch of old freeskiers (one being JP Auclair) facing off against snowboarders in the park and pipe where they somehow become friends along the way and doing syncronized pipe runs and crashing through windows and into pools and shit

If they were to remake some ski movie it would deffinatley have to be this one

heres the trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CI124f4jAkw

I wanna see that rail i think it took hibbert like 150 tries to hit in that old level 1 movie get hit again

Okay dude no offense, that wouldn't really work for newschoolers, just because i don't really know if alot of people would get there act together, but up top somewhere someone mentioned using the big filming companies. That i think is a really good idea. Take 5-7 filming crews and companies, my choices would be, Level 1, Stept, Meatheads (its east coast people), TGR, the Nimbus Crew, PBP, and MSP. That would be my choice choose whoever you want. The companies would pick the places, going from Chads Gap to AK, Gulmarg and some of the places, CR and Shane, and the rest have gone as a memorial, having about 18 - 21 segment plus a combined open and close by the groups, meaning the companies send two men and they make the open and close and decide the text and what not. Winter should be time to film the segments, make it a big shoot for the entire company and crew so that the full strength of the industry is around, and go OFF. Each company would have to do 2 or 3 in my case which is easy for a company do take like 2 or 3 days for each one over the course of the winter. The summer would be the time to really work on the project, because people could get together and collab as a large group and get it out, i think of this as about a 3-5 year movie, the first 2-3 would be for the groups to gather their funds for the movie, they would have to pay for their segments, but they have money so it shouldn't be that large of a problem. Then the 4-5 years would be to shoot, edit and do everything to make the movie. And then release it, i believe that people should be able to buy the movie, i would pay 20-30 dollars for a good ski movie, especially one like this, so $20 for the movie would be the price. Release it at IF3 or another big event, SIA, whatever and put it online and ship it wherever you can, get some foriegn shots if you want, i would enjoy looking at Chamonix, France. Drop the prices $10 dollars the next year. and then just release it. I would love for the entire movie to be free but this movie would reach around the entire skiing industry so selling just helps fuel what we all love so much. I actually believe that this a very possible idea, tll the people that it would take to make this love this shit as much as we all do. This would be the biggest and best collab in the ski community, i mean really, having that many people and companies and crews, and getting together the biggest names in skiing, Imagine watch Tom Wallisch Sammy Carlson, JT Holmes, etc, hitting the same jump and just seeing fucking insanity going off, Now imagine watching an hour of that, IT WOULD BE AMAZING.

If you actually read all this and think this is a good idea, let me know and if you have anything to suggest let me know. Mr Bishop and Mods, please forward this to your big wig friends and make it happen. I borrowed ideas for, I_Am_God's and Ski@jaypeak2 and GyPsyDouG. Beyong those people this is my idea, from my own thoughts. If you want to use it, i think you should have to ask permission, and seriously if you ask you will recieve.

Just throwing it out there but John Symms suggested a similar idea

in an interview with Oscar Schilen (sp, I'm not even close) a few years ago.

From what I remember it went pretty much like, "How about you

recreate Jon Olsson's segment from 1242?" and Oscar was like, "...I

can't do switch misty 9s yet...".

I think your current idea of recreating features from the past

would work but only with a select few features (some of which have been

mentioned here already): I think if you started making

jumps/rails/halfpipe like in the past it would pretty much be like a

shitty small/medium park today.

Past

features that I would like to see revisited:

The

Loop - propaganda (love to see that done switch

Curved

rail - happy days

That

spaces/huge trapezoid rail – happy days

Here is what I would like to do:

I think we should pick pros today and ask them what their favorite

segment was growing up. What inspired them.

They can then recreate this segment (exactly or close to exactly):

same shots, same music, same trick, same spots (or similar filming angle at

least), same style (including clothes).

This could be a collaboration of companies and athletes.

And the past athletes could introduce the recreated segments.

The movie would be called “Tribute”.

OP, sweet thread.
