Ski movie idea so unoriginal it is original

I was recently watching a bunch of my old movies and i thought a cool idea for a movie would be to remake a movie that is like 5-10 years old but with modern ski technology and tricks. I am not saying exact lines but same areas and remake some park setups and hit the same rail. I just think it would be cool to see how things have changed over the years.

damn thats one hell of a good idea. I was just watching show and prove today and thinking how far the sport has come in just a few years. There would be no better way than re doing a movie to blow all our minds on how far we have come in such a short time.

I like it.

How about a collaborative effort between the bigger companies? Maybe not a whole film, but memorable set pieces from legendary movies. Basically, we see this annually now with Chad's and Pyramid and a truckload of returning urbans to be one-upped, but I like the concept you're going for.

I'd buy it for a dollar.

I think it would be a worthy challenge for modern shapers to make a halfpipe subpar enough to look like pipes in Thirteen.

A remake of the hit list or ski movie would be sick, not that old, but than would just go to show the progression of the sport in this short a period of time

If I was sponsoring a remake, I'd give Chris Ostness all the money he needed to chase the best skiers in the world around for Teddybear Crisis 2.

I like this idea.

Dare I suggest "Blizzard of Aaaahs"?

Part of me thinks it would be blasphemy, but the other part thinks that it would cool to see those same lines hit by Pettit et al.

how about putting a huge dinosaur right behind one of the jumps in the park....

and have someone slide UP an escalator using a winch instead of down ...

Itd be hard to remake some of the back country stuff because of snow quality and the amount and just all the factors that go into the bc. But it would be cool to see some parks remade

Newschoolers should put their shoulders behind this and bring out a movie just like first!but only bigger and better !

You guys should think of a script for the movie!

Maybe start a thread and have NS say what they want to see again.

Then make the script and have the NS community film those legendary parts, maybe through a system of little contests to decide who has the best mini edit for said part and gradually put it all together into 1 awesome movie?

just an idea that kind of popped into my mind...

if it'd work i have no doubt it will be legen... wait for it!

Uuuuh... can you say "Every Ski Movie Intro and skit acted out by NS members and we vote for the best".

I can. It could be like that Star Wars project where the whole film was recreated by different people filming 15 seconds of the film in unique ways and put together.

i would love to see some NSers reenact some of the legendary stuff thats happened in the freeskiing history...

and with the help of some (semi-)professional editors within the NS community the result could be a really great movie :)

there has to be a remake of the downward over curved rail from happy dayz. coolest rail for a park ever. and kind of funny i was watching strike 3 on vhs...but i was thinking what if the pros now a days would do with those set ups.

Some of those rails Coty and Olenick stomp are still gnarlier than many rails in recent L1 films!

Ive been thinking of this idea ever since I found out Golden Eye 64 was going to be re-released for xbox 360. It'd be so sick.

The problem is it seems like half the site is unaware of anything from over 2 years ago and it would go over most peoples' heads. That or everyone would be crying out to re-shoot "that one sick part from Turbo".

All pessimism aside though, I have only two words for everyone:

Guatemalan Persuader.

i love this idea.

dont forget to have the entire movies soundtrack provided by swollen members.

gangstuhhh.

one part i think would be amazing but most likely cant happen. seth in ski movie 3, that part was insane. be awesome to see someone now just tossing the biggest fucking backflips ever, and some lincon loops.
