Ok fellow skiers. Winter is coming up, and I'm working on creating an illustrated "Ski Movie Bingo" card. Basically, I'm putting together a list of stereotypes that appear in a bunch of ski movies. I have a pretty solid list already, but this community is bound to have a bunch more.

What tired tropes get dragged out every year for each new crop of ski movies?

Some examples to give you an idea of what I'm thinking:

-A skier mentions "progression"

-Montage of avalanches with ominous soundtrack

-Slow motion skin rip

-Timelapse of snow accumulating overnight

-Voiceover of old man pretending to say deep things about the change of seasons

-Shot of urban skiers interacting with cops

-Euros skiing huge lines in terrible snow

-A helicopter films another helicopter

What do you ski in every damn ski movie that comes out?

shot of speed checking a new jump by stopping abruptly on the lip

An audio clip of a weather channel reporting the new storm

The skiers talking in the heli headsets at the beginning or end of an alaska segment

Eating ramen in Japan

- nose butter three in pow (enough already)

- skier in the background yelling after peer stomps a trick

- Timelapses

B-roll debauchery

A heli just departing the peak after dropping off skiers

Close ups of an animal in the wild, or if urban, like a dog

Huuuuge tomahawk (jk these are great)

A bunch of 180s off little cliffs
 
-An interview where they say, "it's not about the destination, it's about the journey."

-Not grabbed 3's

-Intro about a new up and comer who is blowing everyones minds

-Said before but shots of sleds being unloaded and someone doing a pow turn on a sled looking like its their first day on a sled.

-Time-lapses of a starry night or snow piling up on deck railing

-Going to some wild foreign country where the snow sucks and they complain about how hard their forcing it and how much it's snowing back home.

-Heli Skiing segment where they talk about how they only have one or two good days and then talk about waiting in the hotel room the rest of the time.

Maybe some pole wacking at the top of a line but I can't complain about that

some bullshit along the lines of "I just feel so in tune with the mountains" to make skiing seem #deep and important
 
A winch moving/ being cranked up, pulling the banshee bungee back to the skier. A skier being pulled by a banshee bungee or winch.

falling on an urban rail, and then having the skier walk up the stairs in slo mo to show the struggle of them trying the rail for so long
