Ski lengths

^^^ depends what kind of riding your doing...... park, all mountain, powder, racing, piste...... for park i like my skis to be a little bit shorter than me. it also depends on what your weight is too.

and how heavy you are. if you are a short fat plumber you're gonna need longer skis than a tall skeleton

If you ski in the park short skies are easier to do tricks on. I have major respect when people bust fat with a large pair of skies!

Weight 175lbs.

When I'm skiing steeps I use 193cm X-screams

When I'm in bumps or parks I ride 165cm Line Darkside's

Just trying to show you how drastic preference can be. I'm one skier and switch between two skis with almost a 25 cm difference.

It's ALL Preference... don't listen to length guides or anything else... if your a beginner GO SHORT... otherwise demo different ski's and sizes till you find the right fit

 
for park up to the top of you forehead reg skiing little higher pow 1-3 inches taller then you that is if your around the average weight for your height if your a fat midget or a paper thin skyscraper that could change things

im a 'skinny skyscraper'. I am 6'2 150 lbs, and ski on 178 candides (dynastar), but they are too short for my preferance, and i am thinkinfg about getting the 183 stls. My preferance is just about same height for park, maybe even a little bigger than me.

Girls only want to date guys with good skills, like nunchuck skills, bowstaff skills, computer hacking skills...
 
i'm 6'3' with 193 line dragons

I promoted my CVS and Stop and Shop card from the inside slits to the outside ones...my Blockbuster and gym ID got pissed off, but I told them, sorry guys, laminated plastics just can't cut it in the big leagues

Frankly, I think the whole 'go long or you're a pussy' idea to be stupid. Different types of skiing will require different skis of different lengths. Most of the 'guides' out there tend to cover the jack of all trades type of ski. The more speficic you get, the more drastic the changes will be.

My Dragons are a great all-purpose ski for me, given my height and wight. However, if I wanted a park ski, a BC ski, and a GS ski, I'd be looking at very different shapes and sizes.

does 5'8 150 with size 178 sound ok? i'm not sure whether i should go to a 171 or 178 line invaders

what do you guys think?
 
welll I prefer skis that are taller than me..but skis taht are around the height of your face are just swell
 
I think a 178 Invader would be good, concidoring they are symetrical, and you will be mounting in the centre. Good work on searching, but, this thread is like 3 years old. Probably just better to have made a new one, but, w/e.
