Ski lengths

im buying the 08/09 obsethed and wondering what length to buy? I ride alot of Big Mountain and BC, and booters in the BC/park. I need something that will work good in pow, glades, BM lines, pillows, but also something i can spin on. i was thinking 189's/bindings at +3? I'm 6'3ft 170lbs. I cant decide between the 179's or the 189's? Suggestions..
 
I'm thinking you will likely want the 189 at your height, especially because you're going to be skiing bunches of powder.
 
if i were you id go with the 189s cause where you goin to be skiing and your size youd prolly be dissapointed with the 79's
 
The only concern i have with the 189's is that i like to spin alot. Ive always had smaller ski's so im hesitant to buy bigger skis and not be able to spin. If i mounted my bindings at like +4/5 would that make up for it?
 
I'm about the same height as you and wouldn't venture past 179, although i do mostly park. If you're charging lines then 189s could be an option, but you'll die in the glades and things will feel really weird for a while considering you've skied on short skis all your life. K2 runs a bit longer than they say they do, so 179s would be better in my opinion...
 
Only problem with the 189's is that i do ALOT of Glade skiing. I would say about 40-60% of my time is in the glades. Ive been told that longer ski's are really hard in the trees and always clip. Do you think that this is going to be a problem? or will i get use to it..
 
dont worry man, go with the 189, and if your going to be doing a lot of glades, just mount them a little further forward, its rockered so it should be cool, and this will also help with skiing switch in pow
 
Anymore advice? I NEED to be able to ski glades cause i do that all the time, and also spin off drops and stuff cause i do that to. But i want something that i can still charge and have stababilty, ideally i would go 185 but i am pretty decided on the obsethed so i am thinking 89, bindings at 4/5
