Ski length...

Hi, I wanna buy some new Line step up or chronic skis and I don't really know what length to take. Does anyone know whether Line measure the overall length or just the length where the ski is in contact with the snow? Thxx

It's the entire length of the ski.....but if ya drop some stats like height, weight, type I could give ya some help or advice on choosing a length....I've got some experience because my wife got sick of women's skis and has ridden a ton of guys skis.....funny she owns more pairs than I do now....but her new fav is the pandora....even for park!.....I also have a cousin who's borderline pro and she rides nothin but guys skis as well.....so let me know if need any further help....I'll be on a bit longer.

But if your dead set on step ups or chronics go chronic....amazing ski...the new ones has the same dimensions as the cryptos and that was one of my top tree favorite skis of all time.

Thanks very much for your answer :)I've started skiing when i was like 3 but then when i turned 12 i decided i wanted to snowboard and now after 6 years i really wanna ski again, because it's just so much fun. So yeah it would be really nice if you could help me a bit. I'm 1m79 ( 5ft9-10in) and weight 140 pounds. I'd like to stard doing some jibbing nd jumps, but also skiing on a normal slope. I'd really like to take the chronic, but i'm gonna have a look at the skis you told me. what size shall i take it?? 173 or 78??

Normally for your height I would say 178. But since you are just starting out in park I would suggest 173.

Ok here we go....my wife started out skiing then went to skiboards and then snowboards and back to skiboards and then to full size skis.....she runs the park hittin most of the smaller jumps and boxes but she's kinda a pow hound....for a while she was riding 174 roxy broomstix teams.....she loved em for park but hated them anywhere else....she's damn near the exact build as you and now she rides the pandora 172 for everything....she has it mounted -1 from dead center and said it's the closest thing to a snowboard feel as you can get....now that's a wide ski and may not be what your looking for but in the last two years she's been on all the chick skis and the chronic cryptos and the step ups....they were between 170-173....she loved the chronics but demoed the pandoras and fell in love.....the most important thing she learned was that she needs a mount damn near close to or exact center to feel comfortable but she's deadset that 170-175 is the perfect length....and again she's the same build as you......now the pandora 172 skis like a 165 she says so it's even more maneuverable......but it's 115 underfoot....so it's a wide ski....if your super technical doing alot of rails and switch ups on rails I wouldn't recommend it but if you like the surfy/ floaty snowboard type of feel than get the pandora for sure.....it's so good that she let her cousin ride em who rides nothin but guys skis and she's gettin the pandora for next season now....but her cousin who is damn good currently rides a rossignol s3 177......hope all that helps...if ya have any other questions let me know

Thanks very much guys! It's really nice and helpful! i think i'm gonna go for the chronic, cause i don't really do spend that much time skiing in the pow. just a last question, and what about armada skis? which one would you recommend?

Im pretty sure Line puts out some quality tech spec videos about their products on their site, might be worth takin a look.

Some people swear by armadas....but I'd say demo before buying those....I've ridden a few and they jus didn't feel right for me....not sayin their bad....jus not right for me....so if your gettin the chronics are you going with this years?...'12s?....if your going for last years I'd def recommend the crypto....the 12s have the same dimensions as the crypto did...92 underfoot and it makes all the difference...honestly there's been a trending toward a wider ski for park as of late and I have especially noticed this with women.....so don't discount something like the pandora jus because it's marketed as a pow ski....when chicks see my wife skying on those they always stop her in the lift line to ask a bunch of questions....I also know a 15 yr old chick who rides em for park/all mountain and she skies higher than most guys in the park on em....jus keep your mind open....probably goes without saying as your willing to ride a guys ski anyway....good luck either way!

I think i'll go for da chronic 2012! We'll see how it goes wit it. I just have to stat a bit smooth, cause i tore my ACL last winter, so i ll see. but maybe next year, i could try wit a larger one or just borrow one from a friend. I'm just so excited to get my new skis. Anyway thx a lot for your advises. =)

Honestly the chronic cryptos were one of the best skis I'd ever ridden...you'll love it....I'm onto the wider trend....went to last years bacons and now onto the opus but I snowboarded for a few years too and I love the extra width underfoot....def get the chronics but if you get the opportunity to demo the pandora or even the bacons for that matter....do yourself a favor and give em a shot....again best of luck!

U can take one or the other, but I'm s tall as you and i'm riding 172 cm.... you can take between 168 to 175, depend on what you like (longer or shorter)...
