it all is on you size ;' if you are like speed or spins. I race on a pair of k2 modx 195... their a bit soft. in the park and pow i am riding a pair of k2 ak enemys 188. In the pipe they are a bit long. but in the backcountry thy are bad ass.

just go to your local shop and ask what ill work for you .

 
how tall are you? i thought you want to go a little shorter for bc pow skis... if thats true then why do salom skiers have skis that come up to their shoulders.....arent they looking for speed?

 
The reason why the slalom skis are so short is because of the way they are designed. The more radical the side-cut, the shorter the ski needs to be. The type of turns laid out by GS skiiers require short skis with extreme shapes

The biggest factors in what ski size you need are going to be height (given that a person is in a proper height-weight ratio) and the type of skiing. For example, I telemark, so I have 193's (Line Dragons). I'm also 6'4' (hence the extra length). If I was doing resort-only skiing, I'd probably go with the 180 Mavericks. (I do like the design of the Maverick and wish the Rossi Bandit XX had a tail that was just 10cm higher)

Switch: If a person is within the proper height/weight ratio, then height will be the factor. If they are not, allowances need to be made for weight. Naturally, allowences always need to be made with regards to skill and terrain.

Not only height, but weight, stiffness and ability. I personally am 184 cm, i ski on scratch bc 188, but i tend to have more stability and pop on a pair of candides. Plus if you are a begginer then buying a biger pair is a bad fuckn idea.

i ride a pair of 210s they are the biggest skiis i can find because i am 7'2'

All I gotta say is that if I have to replace my Dragons, I'm getting 195 Bandit XX's (too bad the tail on the XX's is only 20cm instead of the 30cm the Maverick has)
