Ski Length in the Park

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I’m starting to ski in the park and learning new tricks. I was wondering what kind of ski length do most people use in the park (i.e. shorter skis). For example my skis come up to about my hair line or just above (160cm). But I would think that with shorter skis it would be a lot easier to perform tricks. Does anyone know if the pros use shorter lengths, if I use 160cm for an all mountain ski, would I use a 150cm in the park? I know that its more personal preference, but I thought I would ask anyway.

Thanks for the advice.

Most Pros use skis that are as tall as them for park. Some use skis a little bit shorter than them, but the extra length is worth it for stability on landings

i'm 6'0'' and used to ski on 164's. but, i just got 179's and like them much more. they come up to the top of my head or so.

also remember that shorter skis like 150s are designed for lighter riders.....so if you over 120 lbs go with 160s or so.......if you are a real pimp...youll rep the 210 cms

agreed. the short ski thing is a misconception. it does make it easier to spin but landing and riding is much easier on a longer ski. head height is best... taller works too

I had 173 Enemies, then went to 176 Skogans and now I'm on 180 Enemies. And everytime I go a little bigger, the more I like it. Its so much better for landings, especially switch ones. And for skiing outside the park its way way better. And really, doing the trick is the easy part, landing is the hard part.

If you slide a lot of rails you'll probably want something a little bit smaller, but if you hit big jumps and want something really stable, get something that's longer. Last year I had the choice between 164cm 1260s or 176cm Skogens... now I really wish I chose the Skogens because the 164s, although easy for stuff on rails/boxes, are not too stable on jumps.

dude size means shit. pollard skis a 186 cm ski and he cant be taller than 5'10 - 5'11. I personally wouldent ski anything under 175. everyone always says hey if i get shorter skis i'll be able to throw more tricks. which may be true but i'll bet you wont be able to go half as big as you would be able to with longer skis. and you will regret it. if you want to spin faster ride snollerblades, then you'll be cool.

yah man i say go with skis at least as tall as u, i made the mistake of gettin 169 pe's which r about my height, but i like my 182 motherships better, my next park ski is probably gonna be at least 180

Rails- not below top of nose

Rails/Jumps - between eyes and top of head

Going big/all mountain - above head

Those are the three sizes i get...

dont ride short pussy skis! i ride 188 scratch bcs in the park, if your a good skier you can handle the length, why do you think the pros use the fucking bigg sizes of their skis!?
